I googled Fort Mott Car Show. There doesn't seem to be much info outside of facebook.
http://www.wherevent.com/detail/Fort-Mott-Park-Fort-Mott-State-Park-Car-Show

I emailed Rocky to find out about registration and what time to meet and where.
I'll let you know when he emails me back.

For those of you not familiar with Fort Mott, it was built during the civil war and if I remember right it was decommissioned in 1951? It looks like a hill covered in grass. It was the first real use of concrete to fortify a fort. They also used "disappearing guns" which are like these big guns on a train track, and they would get the gun into position, and fire it. The recoil of the gun would cause it to drop down into the fort, so any ships coming up the river would litterally not know what hit them, or from where.
All the fort is open to walk through with signs and diagrams explaining everything.
There is also a small museum at Fort Mott, Finn's Point Cemetary, walking/bikng trails, picnic area, and a kid's playground.

There are 3 forts on the river.
Fort Mott is on the NJ side.
Fort Delaware is on Pea Patch Island in the middle of the river.
For Dupont is on the Delaware side.
Fort Delaware was used as a Civil War prison. They have tours with Olde Tyme people walking around and "working" that you can talk to.
I don't know much about Fort Dupont. I was only there once, and did not take a tour.

There is a small ferry that goes between NJ and DE and stops at Pea Patch Island.
You pay once for the ferry and you can ride it as many times as you want all day.
On the Delaware side there is a few stores and restaurants. The town is Delaware City.
There is Crabby D*ck's which is a Bar/Restaurant that has indoor and outdoor seating, and there is also an ice cream shop on the DE side.
So even if you don't really like car shows it's still neat to walk around and check the stuff out.

I am hoping this event will be pretty cool, and hoping they have some local food vendors and people selling locally made hand made stuff like they do at Pennsville's Septemberfest.

Hey guys, I called Rocky today and got the scoop on the Fort Mott show.

He said there is no registration. It's first come, first serve. He said the cars will be in the grass in front of the Fort, so if you want a primo spot by the water get there early.
There is no fee to show, just a donation. The Road Knights donate all the money they raise from the show.

I don't know if anyone is familiar with the Hot Summer Nights at Riverview Beach Park in Pennsville in July, but there is a few hundred cars there. That's also the Salem County Road Knights. They said that show has been going for over 20 years. He said they have 3 they do every year. I don't remember the other 2, but he said one is at an airport, and I think the other was at the Salem County Fairgrounds?

Ok,
Last night I went to the Salem County Road Knights meeting.

They are getting there around 7:30 to start setting up.

They will probably start letting people in around 9.
The spots are first come first serve, so if you want a good spot by the water get there early.
I am probably going to try to get there around 8.

The show officially starts around 10.

Registration is free, but they ask you to make a donation, and I am pretty sure they said the donation goes to help veterans.

There will be a DJ and food trucks.

Norm and Dave B said they were coming down, and Erik said he might come up from DE.
Keep an eye on the weather. It said 75% chance of percipitation last time I checked. I hope they change their minds by then.

I am watching the Salem County Road Knights, Fort Mott Car Show, and Fort Mott facebook pages. They're talking about the weather, but as of right now it's still on.
There's no rain date, but they said if it does end up getting rained out they will reschedule it.

If I see or hear anything, I'll let yous know.

Now Sunday looking better.  Who is making the final decision?
