Litchfield
« on: May 24, 2013, 12:52:16 pm »

I've been toying with the idea of going up to Litchfield this year- might be driving Ned. I was wondering when you went last and is it worth the effort and drive?

been to litchfield many times and most definately worth the drive up.
i usually went up the day before and we'd stay over in a motel.
we'd then take back roads to the show.
if you get there early enough the firehouse near the entrance does a pancake breakfast that is cheap with great food.
when we had our 57 there it took us exactly 5 hours non stop to get from litchfield to laurel springs.
great swap meet too.

hhhhmmmm.?!

Was thinking of making it a day trip. Google tells me it's a 3 1/2 hr trip, but I'm sure that's if you're driving 65 and we all know Ned aint doin that.

YES, It's worth the drive! I've been there for the past 3yrs. If u are there on the Saturday evening there's dinner that is provided to anyone who's camping or out of towners that're there for the show on sunday. Oh, and the food is great! Last year was Chicken/mushrooms, BBQ Pulled Pork and Fried chicken. Lots of salads and fountain drinks, everything is from the promoters. Over 400 cars on display, about 6 splits, countless ovals and many many early buses attend.
