Most beautiful Jack,

Have you been breathing in exhaust fumes from the "most beautiful bus"? Dude you sound like you have a bad case of the "Timothy Leary syndrome". Lets hope its not contagious!  c23 c23 c23

Hey Punch Buggy was a blast! lots of great cars and good folks and as usual I had a good time. It was really good to see members and their cars come out in force. Looks like we have some trophy winners but I don't know who, we decided to leave a bit early so I didn't get to see who won what. If anybody has an idea please post as "inquiring minds want to know".  bronz_cup-winner silver_cup_winner goldwinner

One really good surprise was to see Jays "Louie V". The car is incredible! way better than the posted photos and this was backed up by the crowd around it all day. Of all the cars there it gets my vote as the best! Now i never thought a water pumper in an air cooled car could look and sound so good but think about it, this could be a look into the future of our hobby, when something this fresh and new shows up people stop and take notice!   $61$

Hope everybody made it home safe, hope to see ya all at the next one!

Wish I made it, weather turned out great after all.

Glad it did not rain on you guys,

But if I hear what Jack is saying, that would have been ok, rain would be beautiful...... 888

No way. Even if I was a complete idiot (don't answer that  I1t ) & knew nothing about cars or VW's it would be obvious that Jay's car was Best of Show  bronz_cup-winner. That car belongs on Magazine Covers....Speaking only for myself I don't need no stinking trophy :icon_puke_r: but I love those little dash palques (love Atco was the first show I've ever been to that did not give them out, boy talk about cheap &m&

whaaaaaaaaaat? 2nd place? Hey there were a lot of nice rides there but didn't see any that would take 1st place over "Louie V". Jay was robbed.

I know it seems cheap of Atco but it actually would have been CJVW's that would have had to pay for them. CJVW is the club that runs the show. For things like trophies, dash plaques and goodie bags, the club has to come up with those funds, either through it's members raisng money or finding companies willing to sponser parts of the show with a cash donation. As we all know the economy sux right now so money is tight. These are some of the reasons why you'll hear some of directors saying it's not so easy to put on a show. People want to get paid, insurance has to be bought, etc.

there was some controversy over a member of CJVWS who has won about 4 or 5 best of show trophies. Seems they didn't feel Jays car was"finished". Stupid yes!

That was mango. I know him from the samba. Nice car and I guess it doesn't hurt to have a magazine spread of your car on the front seat. And yes he is a member of CJVW

That was mango.

thats the guy. The people I helped judge wanted to give Jay the best of trophy since they felt this guy had already gotten quite a few. Some big guy in a "porsche" hat came over and started mouthing off how he judges porsche shows and Jays car would never pass muster at one of them. I just said "it isn't a Porsche". The porsche dude then complains "its a show car and its not finished". I guess he had more pull than the two guys I was with. Too bad,

they also passed up Martins red 64'. that was the second time he showed it and got nothing. there was only 5 cars in his class.
