Hello All!
I recently just bought my first VW, a 74 Karmann Ghia. I live in North Jersey and need help with a few details. First any good shops in NJ that do old VW stuff? Like valve adjustments, installing a dual carb set up? That sort of stuff. Also, I need some reliable advice on what size tires I can use on a 74 ghia to lower without rubbing?!?! I currently have 165-80-15's in the back on a 5 1/2 inch stock wheel. I want a lower profile tire so i can drop the rear but have heard 20 million different answers? Also any help on wheels that will fit would help. Thanks guys and gals!!!!!!!

Call Foreign Car Werks in Boundbrook NJ. and ask for Billy, the owner. Great bunch of guys and can handle anything for you even tire size. I don't know what will or wont fit.

OK, ask Billy about their club also, you can get a lot of help if you belong to a club. Good luck.

Welcome to the club, I have a 1970 Karmann Ghia and I put P185/65 R15 tires all the way around. It lowered the car about 1/2 inch. It rides good, no rubbing and handles well. Good Luck with your car.
