Why didn't you tell anyone you were going? Or did you and I said it was to far? 888
I didn't think there would be any takers! Think of it- three hours up and three hours back- through brooklyn and queens (The famous Belt Parkway- the closest thing the usa has to legalized grand prix driving with potholes!)
I was going to leave Friday afternoon but the rain stopped that idea. I got up at 4 am saturday, was on the road by 4:30. Got to my Dads house by 8 am. Washed the car, had a cup of coffee and was at the show by 9:15.
Trophies came out at 3:30 and I was back on the road by 4 pm. Even I'm getting too old for this crap, but my Dad has always told me about this show and how I should try to make it. This year I did. (P.S.- the date is on the calendar. I didn't play it up alot because I knew it would be a hard sell to the members)
BTW- I met Jeff from CJVW there. No convertible- he brought his NB- nice looking for a '99. They still want to talk Punch Buggy.
Oh and another observation- very strong dealer support. Donaldsons VW was there and provided goodie bags-Pens, magnets, t shirts, business cards, hell even boxes of chewing gum with the dealer logo on it. Something to think about.
