So what would you guys say a (looks to be) mint 66 convertible (beetle) would go for???
sounds like an every nut and bolt restoration that has just a few years on it.
I would have to think this might even be a club members car, but a quick look did not seem like anyone was selling theirs here? I'll post the lead for you guys (as I probably won't be buying it) but I just had to see what you guys thought first...

Is this not one of our guys cars??
Anyone seen it at the local shows??

If it was a members car it would have my drool stains all over it! :icon_cool: :icon_cool: :icon_cool: :icon_cool:
8-10 grand-easy.
-
so if I bought it for less than 6 you think a good deal??
I thought it was/is a steal...
-
I think 6 is a good price but I wouldn't do it with out looking at it. From the photos it looks mint but it could be hiding rust/engine issues- pays to check it out. if he's asking 6 look for things that would lower the price first.
Good luck

Yes I would definitly be seeing it in person first, it is a south jersey car, so it is close.
Might be hard to see any rust tho, apparently the whole pan has been powdercoated (along with many other parts).....sounded to me like it was done right. Supposedly the car is 100% all around.
they are asking 5500, maybe they take 5 for it screwey))
wasn't looking to buy but......

If you have it and the car is good, I'm sure you wouldn't regret it. Sell one of the other projects :icon_biggrin:

To me it's a scam. Was in contact with the owner??? and it seems shady to me. You have to give 5500.00 ( now ) to the trucking company and they will deliver the car. The car is in Kansas, a least the company is there and the car was on their website, and she supposedly is in Cali for some kind of treatment. She sent me a link to the trucking company and there wasn't even a phone number on their website. Says they belong to all these trucking organizations but they weren't even listed as being members on the organizations website. The car has been for sale on craigslist for some time. Bouncing around from South Jersey to Delaware. Don't you think with a low selling price someone would have sucked it up long ago??? Email her and you'll see what I'm talking about. Oh, the selling price was 4500.00 when I got a hold of her, that included shipping. Na....

Thanks Steve,
That's what i thought, it sounded to good to be true. gl6
Saved me some time in checking it out then, but there's no way I would have done a thing without eyeballing the car and driving it home when I paid the cash.

Thanks for all the background info Steve. (see Jack! He is good for something!)
It helps to do a little research. I thought the car was local!?

The only reason I knew is because it sounded too good to be true. I contacted the seller.

It's back on Craigslist under Jersey Shore

They're either trying to make as much profit as possible or they really don't want to sell it

This is an e mail I sent to the person with that ad. Within an hour the add was gone. I'll keep a check and see if it comes back.

Humm, this car bounces all over the place and selling cheap, I think the Attorney Generals Office would be interested in this ad.
