I thought it was great that they came, seemed like incredibly nice people. I know they said they had a 64 ragtop beetle for sale, and stated a price.. I was thinking that it may be low - of course, I have not seen the car in any way, but I would love for them to get a fair price for it, - I am have doubts if they know the market value for it - which of course is hard to determine. I have a thing for older people to be treated fairly.
On thesamba, ragtop around their car's year
like here for a titled '56 without headliner, and incorrect engine - for 4,600

Seems like a nice 64 NON sunroof goes for about 6K

there are some higher priced or some for quite a bit higher.. then there are the dreamers... Overall it seems there is a limited number of these. My impression is, if there car is in very good shape ( and they seemed to take care of their cars) it may sell higher... or they just want it gone for the price they stated, ..
Rusty sunroof here for 4,500

I know some people were talking to them, not sure if there are plans to see it, help them post it, - sell it. - for a fair price.

I'm pretty sure they said it was a '62.
I saw some pictures of it and it does have the smaller "peanut" front turn signals and it is a rag top sunroof.
Shawn talked to them and, story goes, this was at one time a museum car. Don't know any more specifics.
I talked to them briefly and they did seem very nice.
I'd also like to see them get a fair deal.

Seems there is a concern that they are not getting a fair deal? :confused04:;
Wait, Matt showed up last night? thumpup)-

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here... They havent even listed it anywhere. George is going to assist. We were just trying to see if we can "place" the car in a good home before this very nice elderly couple is subjected to the bottom feeders of the Samba.
Michelle is going to get their info to Jack. We'd like Jack to take a look and then we'll post everything here
BTW it is a 62 ragtop

going to call them tomorrow.

At the time, what came to my mind was the 2nd to the last time I was at the VW show at Spring Mountain. People told me of an OG gorgeous split beetle heret the show, the owner bragging that he found it in mint condition, in a garage at a house where he was doing landscaping. They told me he said he approached the elderly lady who owned it and got if from her very, very cheap telling her the car was so old no one would want it. Most people ( but not all ) were pretty upset with him, Katie did not even want to see the car. To me, that is pretty much scamming the elderly which is despicable. And I am NOT saying this is what would happen to this couple, I just want them to know what their car's fair value is, that's all. Some years ago, my Mom was scammed out of thousands, which was a nightmare - fortunately was able to get it back through the courts.
Yea, I snuck out of work "early" to make it to the meeting... didn't see Karen there for some reason -
Good to see many of you again!
Ok, missed it was a 62 ragtop;, when you get to be my age, it's hard to hear. Actually, I'll blame it on Howard, at the time distracting me by talking and/or trying to steal chips off my plate.

let's air raid it and take it to Atlantic City auction!!! It's a rare color with a sunroof . that odd green yellow is hated or loved and only two years i think 62 and 63. the price set is based on its condition. who has seen it? I may be interested. so I call DIBS
I also loved the sweet couple .......can we keep them?

It would be great if they kept showing up!
