We use to shop for a tree, now we just take it out of the box. 2@@cool
I used to decorate a tree... now I take a fiber-optic one out of the box and let the lights do the work! thumpup)-
We have artificial trees of various sizes in every room. We use to get real trees and ground pine when the kids were small until we realized the pollen made them sick! As a generational family tradition we put ground pine in nice clear vases filled with water and red food coloring. We discovered that the ground pine released copious amounts of pollen that made everyone sneeze! I guess parents of the year wasn't in our future. %$oldcit
As kids we always use to pick Ground Pine and shoot Mistletoe out of the trees with a shotgun because it was always to high up to clime and get it.
Last year we bought our first real tree. It was a white pine in a pot. We named him Troy and planted him out back in the spring, but he doesn't seem to be doing so well.
This year we are probably just going to use our fake Charlie Brown tree so we don't feel like such bad tree parents.

ok, a little late, but so what.
As usual got a real tree this year, I like the new stands that just require you drill a hole in the bottom of the tree, and just sit it on a spike in the stand, then you are all set.
Reading what others did in the past, reminded me when I was a young kid, my parents had an all aluminum tree that came with a rotating lighted multi-colored rotating wheel which "colored" the tree as the wheel turned. Real 60's stuff. Few years ago, saw one in an antique display %$oldcit bawlin)0
Saw one on ebay for ~ $500.oo

I know you people could watch it for hours, but try to tear yourselves away.....
Merry Christmas!!
Hey Matt,
That brings back many memories. My Grand Parents managed the first motel in our town circa 1959. They had one of those Aluminum rotating trees with the color wheel in the lobby! %$oldcit
The video was to short, I had to watch it twice. I also remember that setup. %$oldcit
I think once you see one, you never forget it. Maybe that is a good thing....
Can't believe the tree itself moves! I never saw that before. I want one!! My fiber optic tree has a spinning wheel inside that makes lights change, but only the color disc spins, not the whole tree.
Saw one on ebay a few weeks ago, but it seems to have disappeared - Just make sure you put it on your Christmas next year so Yucel Santa gets it for you
My Aunt Mary - who was a hair dresser, used to make up the most elaborate Christmas trees in her house. She had the revolving aluminium tree with the rotating color light wheel. She had pink trees, blue trees and the latest lights and decorations that were out that year. Her house was totally decorated, filling every nook and crevice.
The women lived for Christmas. As a kid , even my kids, used to make fun of her outlandish talent. We called her the Liberace of Christmas decorators. God, I miss her.
She sounds like JoAnn, she also lives for Christmas.
I Unrolled mine again this year until Lilly stops eating everything in the house. #banghead

That is a fantastic idea Glenn! Will save that for next year.
