Title: Cleaning old dirty connectors
Post by: rich67vw on March 21, 2015, 09:47:23 pm
Instead of fine sandpaper or a wire brush wheel on a Dremel, a dunk in little vinegar with a dash of table salt seems to clean connectors up nice. Rince off with some clean water, and dry off!

Tempting to use that solution to be used as a lovely salad dressing after use, must be chock full of minerals, but not gonna try ^banana=

Vinegar/water solution works great for removing rust from all sorts of parts. I never thought of using it for electrical conductors.
Great information!!
Have you tried it w/o adding salt?
How long does it typically take to work?
Does it require any mechanical intervention?
