Title: New Beetle question
Post by: ukuladynet on April 30, 2015, 02:20:24 pm
Curious, 4thinking6 is it even possible, or has anyone ever heard of a New Beetle (2000ish) making it to 136k without a timing belt being done?

Sure it could make it to 136k without doing the timing belt.  However you have to question whether the PO maintained the car properly if they let the timing belt go that long without replacement.  You have to ask yourself,  what else did they let go... 4thinking6

I heard that first gen new beetles had a lot of issues. Be careful with your purchase! Carfax if you can do it.
