Tuesday of this week I got 10 stitches.
1. First mistake: I removed the guard on my angle grinder- but then, that's what I always do.
2. Second mistake: I didn't use a leather glove. This I usually do. I did have on safety glasses. (My eye doctor told me not to come back after my third visit to remove metal particles).
3. The Third mistake- WAS MY WIFE'S. However, she doesn't see it that way.
Okay here's the story: I put my wife's wire basket in the vise and I'm cutting off the hangers (She doesn't want them on her basket). As I'm cutting off the last hanger, it falls into the grinder and whips the unit out of my hand, and cuts me across the top of my right hand in two places.
I spent the entire afternoon in 'Urgent Care' because the doctor won't stitch it up until it stops bleeding and it won't stop bleeding. A cutoff wheel doesn't cut like a knife. It digs a channel.
Now I have used cutoff wheels for years this way-everything from cutting tomahawks out of rusty hatches to every imaginal automotive projects-never an accident- so you agree it's my wife's fault?
But on the other hand, maybe we should just keep old men from power tools. 8rofl=

unplug all your tools and use a file next time....

Obviously the root of the problem was your wife asking you to cut off the hangers. That?s your story and you?re sticking to it!:)
