I am looking for a proven method to remove rust from chrome. My rims have some pitted chrome spots and i have heard that Coke-a-cola wopuld do the trick.
I have also heard that a simple Brillo pad would work. But it seems that would leave alot of scratches on the chrome.
So if anyone has any proven tricks i would truly appreciate hearing them.

Hey Paul,
forget the brillo pad all you will do is scratch the chrome beyond repair.
use some simple chrome polish and a soft rag. Dupont #7 used to be a favorite but I don't know if its still made. Turtle wax has a good one and also Mothers products work good. If its pitted and really bad there isn't much that will help.

This will scrape the iron oxide off and at the same time the aluminum dust formed will penetrate and react with the rust to form aluminum oxide and iron. I haven't tried this myself."

I am in the process of making my own Electrolytic Rust Removal bath. Once it is set up, I'll take some pics of it.
