Have you wondered what the little bouncing stars are under your avatar. Well it's a mood star and you can set it to reflect the mood your in.

Click on Profile/forum profile information/mood and use the drop down box to select your mood.

Mine is set to HAPPY because I got my camper  (http://sjvwc.net/forums/Themes/default/images/mood_stars/Happy.gif)

Not having a problum on this end. Do you guys ever clean up your hard drive and temp files and defragment?

A lot of times if you turn your modem off for 30sec and turn it on again, that may help.

I now have Verizon Fios internet and uploading a 300MB movie use to take 1-1/2 hours or more with DSL, now takes 15-20 min. Downloading is even faster.  BO**

Hi Jack, new brakes all around, and rear hoses. Bled brakes, good peddle???, maybe need a run and adjust. I might have to look at the master cyl and replace but for now brakes are firm. Replaced right tie rod and should have replaced left while I was at it, but I was too lazy, left tie rod  is OK (for now). Steering is good, but have a slight knock somewhere, maybe in the steering box??. Can't figure why the knock would be coming from there but will clean it up and take a look. All the typical super bushings etc. in the front end seem firm.
But the good news is. I GOT MY NEW TIRES TODAY. I'm Happy, I'm Happy. Soooooooooo, maybe "Sleeping Beauty", (not to be confused with Black Beauty), will make her grand appearance in June. Had to change the name from Oily Betty since I realized that all bugs are oily and she has been sleeping for 13 years. Anyway thats where I am now. Have been running around the driveway. The auto-sick is fine. My driveway  is  250' + so I got to shift thru all 3 gears. Replaced all the vacuum hoses for the auto stick. If anyone out there has a problem with their auto-stick, check the hoses first, and pull the hose to the vacuum can. That can will hold the vacuum probably forever I think. My vac can held the vacuum for 2 weeks.

Thanks Jack, everyone here at home is after me to get tags and insurance. But I would like to concentrate on all the mechanicals and safety first. But now it is almost time take the next step.

I am angry!  >:( After a double shift because I was nice and didn't want my store manager to work alone on memorial day weekend, I drive under a light just as it turns yellowed and get pulled over because I didn't slow down. Then he has me get out of my car, and checks to see if I am drunk... Must be trying to get his quota. He asked me why i didn't stop at the yellow light. I said If I would have tried to stop I would have driven through it anyway. After a double shift and a bunch of shoobies... i was in a pretty crummy mood.
Lickily I got away with a non-written warning.

I truely hate cops... go stop a thief or something...

<--- was robbed once because cops decided to hang out at walmart instead of watching the over the stores, ever since then I've never gotten along with cops.

Ok

end rant  >:(

And they hate calling peoples relatives to tell them their son or daughter died because someone ran a red light. If the effort is made to stop and they notice their radar screen going to the negative you are sure not to get a ticket.

And they hate calling peoples relatives to tell them their son or daughter died because someone ran a red light. If the attempt is made to stop they are less inclined to write a summons.

But it was a yellow light and I went under while my light was yellow not red. I could have slammed on the brakes and went into a building or a pedestrian but I did what I thought was safer. I don't see how i did anything wrong. Me getting robbed while the cops were suppose to be watching over the store could have easily been prevented if the cops were doing their job, not at some donut place or a walmart like they said. I wish I could write a ticket for every law I see cops breaking. Yesturday I saw a cop talking on his cell phone.

He didnt give you a ticket.

They see and deal with all kinds of "normal" people and Kooks, maniacs, druggies, drunkies, psychos...on and on

How does he know you werent on something and because of that your timing was off/sloppy.

He checked that out

he did his job.

Every job, every single job ........has its privileges

I go through yellow lights, and to be truthful to myself, if I was driving very attentively and safe, obeying the speed,  I would not being going through any yellow lights.  I know when a light has been green too long. That is why they are timed for the duration they are in

jim, lets get back to the steering- Is it a single bang when you turn the wheel or repetitive? Check and make sure the steering gear box is mounted tightly, I had one loosen up on me and it was an adventure. Is the steering dampner still good? It works the same as a shock absorber. Take one end off and see how stiff it is. Might need replacing. Then as Jack told me- Check the top of the steering gear box. There are 4 bolts on top that hold on the cover plate. Some times they come loose. You can acess it by taking out the spare tire well (Remove three screws across the top and lift the whole thing out)

I've got to stop typing and pull my motor out m-d &m& m-d2

Yellow don't mean GO FASTETR the light is going red. Running yellow is the same as running a Red light.  police*

How about the tie rod ends? Lay under the front of the car while somebody turns the steering wheel. Look for any play or unusual "bang" from each of the components.

Tie rod ends are OK. Found the problem to be too much vertical movement in the roller shaft of the steering box. Could be some movement in the worm gear but I was unable to confirm. I adjusted the steering enough to take some of the play out of the shaft but still have about 1/16" of play. The seal on the roller shaft is leaking also. Thought I might pull out one of the plugs on top of the box and fill er up with gear oil. Tomorrow I hope to have an assistant.

Normally I won't get involved but I really have to ... go easy on the Police Officer hate rant. OK you're upset because you got nailed running a light ... it happens. Do yourself a favor don't lump ALL Police as being slackers that eat donuts and won't there when you needed them. That kind of stuff also happens ... it's unfortunate but life isn't perfect. I'm with a couple posts ago ... hats off to anyone that wants to risk their lives ON A DAILY BASES to keep people safe. It's not an easy job to do.

I'm off my soap box ...
