You all know that annoying sound when the door is open and key left in the ignition. I couldn't stand it anymore. Especially the irritating noise that my buzzer made. So the damn switch wouldn't come out after unscrewing it from the jamb. Looking at the switch from the back I realized that because of the wire connections and the shape of the switch there ain't no way it will come out of the jamb. Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeez. So a 5 minute project stretches out to much longer. After moving 2 sections of wiring harness, bending tabs, and pulling 2 defrost/vent hoses out of the way I finally was able to get a good look at the switch. Then with my other 4 hands I was able to locate the correct wire, disconnect, tape and tag it. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh finally peace and quite. I was worth the effort.
It was worth the effort.
I sounds like you have to keep telling yourself that (it was worth the effort)!
thank goodness that buzzer was annoying. now i can ride with u again!
Does the interior light still work?
Yep, the light still works Pat. There are several wires connected to the switch. Just need to pull off the wire for the buzzer. The dome light is on another circuit.
It comes right out if you just tilt it back.
Thanks Jack. I'll put everything back the way it was and try again. LOL LOL LOL
Or, just keep it in mind for next time. Hope the info is still in my head before altzhiemers sets in.
heh I know most people think it's annoying, but I think if it weren't for that buzzer I'd definitely be locking my keys in the car at least once.
in other news, I was pleased to discover that my dome light works. hurray!
Can't cha just remove the BUZZER by itself?? shocked

HI Brady, didn't spend much time looking for the buzzer. Guess it's buried somewhere under the dash. Thought it easier to yank the wire.
