Sorry Dave - I'll pass on the fender, but there are two other things I think I would like to discuss. The plate that mounts in the trunk to cover the wiper motor and fresh air fan (mine was modified) and before you send it to the recycler - lets talk roof to include front and rear glass. I am trying to get in touch with (is it) Jay (Bugaru) to talk chop top- first.
Thanks - Mike

Hi Dave,

Saw a while ago, Bud beat me to the front seat

This super has the fusebox in between passenger and driver - right?
If so, do you have the black peice of covering which goes just above the fusebox? - kinda hides the wires?

Thanks

Was it a whining death call Bob?  If the horn has not been used in a while, sometimes it needs some beeping to get it sounding right. Mine sounded like it had asthma for a while til I worked it out.

Check all the connections to the horn? were they clean?

Good call Matt,

I tried to beep it at Clayton and it sounded like somebody was strangling it. I didn't get a chance to check it but I will this weekend. Just figures if it sounded that bad it was ready to go.

This is what I said to Dave in
                      http://sjvwc.net/forums/index.php/topic,4749.msg20731.html#msg20731

...

Just have to make sure you have a viable horn.

Clean the fuse going  to the horn, clean the connectors, ( horn and wire end) maybe you can boost up the Volts that way.

It seems as if a horn is not used for a long time, they can "play possum" - I dont know how else to say it. Once I got my horn going, it seemed to work sometimes, ...and weakly when it did - sort of like a mouse.

So everyday while driving to w_rk at 6:00 am, at a certain point in my drive with no houses around,* I would beep my horn and beep and beep and beep - 15 second long beeps. After a week, it would work all the time, and still does. Something must vibrate in there, so if it gets junked up, the horn suffers.

*(oh, ...but if Ilive near Jacks' house............ )

Good luck,

Matt
...

Good luck Bob!

Matt
