All Club Members,

In case you missed it Monday night I passed out a ballot and asked everyone to fill in their choices for club officers.

The positions up for consideration are:

President
Vice President
Treasurer
Recording Secretary
Events Chairman

All current officers are eligible for re-election except myself ( president ) and John Gallagher ( events chairman ) We've both served 2 years in our current positions and therefore are not eligible to a third term in the same position.

Now a nomination is just that a chance to be elected to office. Anyone can nominate either themselves or another person provided they fulfill the following requirements:

1). - Have been a paid in full club member for at least 1 year
2). - Have attended 10 out of 12 general meeting during that year
3). - Must have internet access as communication to other board members & the web site is a must
4). - Must be willing to attend all managers meetings & general meetings.
5). - Be willing to contribute as well as attend occasional board functions such as inter-club meetings ( with other clubs ) and planning sessions ( such as Christmas party planning sessions, show planning sessions etc. )

If you would like to nominate someone besides your self, the only thing we ask is that you contact that person before you submit his or her name and be sure that person will accept the nomination.

Now I know many of you will say "sorry I don't have the time" or " I don't know anything  about how to run a club", my answer is simple, its your club and it will be what you make it! The success or failure of any organization rest on its members. In my 3 years with this club I've seen it grow from a group of folks who would see each other at car shows to a very dynamic organization that is rapidly becoming a force and a voice in the Volkswagen Community as well as South Jerseys Collector car community. We've achieved a  "legitimacy"  for our hobby in just 3 short years. I'm proud to be able to say  "I've been a part of it", and I hope as members you will all realize you have the opportunity to join in that success!

If you missed the meeting or would like to add to this nomination list please reply to this post. Also if you feel your nomination is a mistake please feel free to reply also. Just remember as with any election this is serious business so please consider it before you reply.

OK, according to the rules I am not eligible to nominate anyone, but when & how does the vote on the nominees occur ???

Next meeting, the rules are for the nominees not the person doing the nominating. As long as you are a paid in full member you can nominate anybody that fits the rules and will accept it.   

OK guys,

Monday night we will be electing 5 club officers.
If you haven't sent in a nomination for an office please remember time is running out.
Also if you have been nominated and decide you don't want to run please let us know ASAP!

Monday I will be printing up ballots with the names of everybody who was nominated for an office. It will be a lot easier if I know ahead of time it there is any changes to be made so please let us know before Mondays meeting!
