You are right about dry heat. Was in Jerome, Az twice. The last time was July of '05. Nice little town good food and lots of high end arts and crafts stuff, I mean big $$$$$. Didn't see any VW's though. Next time I'm out there I'll be looking for one of those dry heat no rust VW's to bring home.

Its not all dry heat! I crossed Arizona many years ago in a snow storm. The "High deserts" can get a bit cold in winter, but you guys are right about the rust free cars! Thats one place "Rust does sleep!"

Hey Bob your right, for those that have never been to Az it's only that lower southern part of Az that stays warm in winter, and area's like Flagstaff North gets lots of snow. It's a strange sight to see snow in the Dessert with these catus sticking there thorns upwards through that cold white stuff. Same weather applies for much of Cali it's only that small slice of Southern Ca over into Az that also stays warm through winter. But then again where else can you walk the beach and look back Eastwards and see snow clover mountains.

As for Rust your right again. Because even in the Dessert area's cars will be sun backed but only surface rust. A bug could sit out there for 30 years and a have about the same amount of rust that a car woul dhave here in only 3 years. I think it actually has more to do with the amount of dampness in the air that causes most rust.  Most of my cars are So-Cal / Az Cars, thus rust Free!   :icon_sunny:

16:9 the argument that is never settle add my job. I've learned to agree to disagree on that one. I prefer 16:9 over the "Full Screen" format. I'm bringing my camera to Flanderz, hopefully it doesn't gobble up another tape. Thinking about rigging a camera mount to my roof rack.  ;D

16:9 should not be a debate, that is the format the film was shot, full screen cuts off some of what the director intended you to see...

I like 16:9 cause it's cool.  I'm easy like that.

The PA member is a transplant.

The world famous Mike Grady has moved back to PA.  His mother in law is ill and he moved his family back to be there.  Great guy.  We miss him.  He's got a Lime Green Thing that took 1st place at the Classic last year.  It was featured in Volksworld too i think.

I believe he'll be hanging out with the South PA VW cguys as he has some connections there, but he'll always count as DHP and if he wants to bring folks on board out there we're all for it.

There's a farewell to Mike Grady video (he moved from tucson to Phoenix) here...scroll down

I'm sure you guys will cross paths.

He's hardcore VW

Dang that was a whole bunch of cool Video's. Hey I even saw Pete Skiba aka Airkewld Pete in there. And remember Mark H, gots one of his memorial T's he'll be missed in the VDub community.

As for Mike moving back to Pa, tell him we've got some rust with his name on it just waiting to meet him. Maybe he can join us at one of our events.  drive&&
