I already gots a Baha, and what the hell kind of engine is that, wait a minute let me puts my specks on... shocked Oh-ooooo it's a BahaRu onething for sure he did a simple install, as that engine can be swapped back to a VDub in no time with little or no tell tail signs of it ever being there? Only problem is it looks kind of vanuable hanging out there, like a tree branch stabbing the radiator etc.

One hit by what? If the car were being used for what it's name implies...aint no trees in the desert.

That very impressive scoop on the roof of my car is way more vulnerable... unless you're racing backwards

Yea-aaa I guess your right, but natually thinking my thoughts were of using it and living on the East Coast with plush woodland, swamps, etc and no open Baha space here so my thoughts were using it in the pinelands. Shawn by the way what is that thing ontop of your roof, someone said it was a snorkel or periscope for undersea study of sealife in the back bays?

I've got some cool pics on my home PC that I need to post I'm sure the guys will appricate them.

Shawn by the way what is that thing ontop of your roof

Allows you to go swampin' right up to the roofline and still breathe. (You and the engine)

Nah...It houses the remote oil cooler which replaces the one that used to be inside the doghouse.
Invented by off-road legend Bob Geese (gee-see). The geese scoop was hugely popular amongst desert racers in the 70's. It is the main reason I like Bajas.

Bajas look stupid without 'em and street cars look stupid with 'em

I've been out to the southwest and spent time traveling through deserts in Calif, Arizona and New Mexico, It ain't all sand, no trees but some damn big rocks!  I'd think that radiator would have some kind of rock guard or shield. Stuff gets kicked up and one hit its a long hot walk back!

Shhhh you'll blow my cover Jack  I1t
The following is in code for Jack...
The two in background are 2 & 432 satellite, No tribander. All ants on crankups (there are 2) are 6m & up. Not much HF here.
BTW Dude how'd you spot the balun? Now who's got the supervision?
Electric? Yes but 12v. Manual one is what damaged my hand.

Oh and the Cylinder looking thing is a Mosquito Deleto. A wonderful propane powered device that tricks mosquitos into thinking you're somewhere else

Shawn. I noticed that retractable tower and directional antenna behind the car, also saw the DieHard sitting infront of the hand crank but wasn't sure if it was for the car or shock treatment? But the thing that I thought of 1st was how long before HAM Master himself "Jack"  was going to notice it? Didn't take him long did it?

Nope... he's prety sharp.

Unlike Jack, Im still very active. The Blue Meanie (like my truck) is equipped with radio & real-time tracking via internet (APRS).
It also has on-board PC & Hi-speed internet + video conferrencing.

Any cruise or convoy to a show can be displayed LIVE on a map here on the message board. "Where are they now?"
We can also send live web cam video via PalTalk & post photos to the message board  WHILE the show or cruise is in progress

Dude-dddddddd your chitten me?  $61$  If so then Jackie Baby needs to setup a "New Topic Header" so that we can all be in touch. Can I get one of them on my bicycle so that I'm not so bored peddling to work in the morning? Better yet can we get one of those there tracking devices stuck on Jack so we all know where he's at and when he's  stoned#

Shawn, let me know how we can do "where are they now"  I would love to experiment with this stuff on our site.

I can see I must check out my mobile rigs and see if they still work. Is this on 2m or another band?

Who is Frank?

Is the Byonics GPS2 with a screen or without and just plugs into the 2M rig?

Hay hay Jay, when you going south, I want to track you.

OOOPs Sorry....Jack.

GPS2 plugs into computer or TNC.
In my truck I have a Kenwood THD700
(http://uirise.wikidot.com/local--files/hardware-kenwood-d700/TM-D700.jpg)
It has full APRS & TNC built in. Just plug in a GPS and you're done.
Plus it is a dual bander so you can still use the radio while pinging your position

I have built 4 of these and have the parts for 2 more.
http://www.kd5om.com/tripmateold.htm (http://www.kd5om.com/tripmateold.htm)

The battery cover holds a 4 AA cell pack. Remove it and there is plenty of room to install a tiny track 3 kit. You then run a 12v cord & audio & PTT cord to radio.  Viola! Self contained unit!
You can buy tripmates (http://www.kd5om.com/images/gpstripmate.gif)used on ebay for 5 bucks. Hell I'll give you one if you want to build a tracker. Makes a great free Lojack
