My #2 fuse blows out the moment I turn on the lights. Testing so far....
Removed all the bulbs in the circuit and test - OK but I still left them out. I removed the right (front and back) light assemblies and pulled the leads off to be sure the housings weren't causing the problem. (Yes I was carefull not to let the leads touch!) I have a meter that emits a tone if the circuit is a short. I installed it in place of the fuse and it sounds even if the light switch is off. (If the bulbs are out for the left side, fuse #1, it properly shows an open) There are two wires inthe harnes that are activated on #2 on my 73 Super. Both of them, individually, are creating the shunt condition.
Where to look or test next?

Light switch is where I would start. Do you have a spare to try?
Did this just start happening or is this the first time you tried the lights?
What did you work on last before this started happening and you tried the lights?
I would start with the wire diagram (on this site) and see what is hooked up to # 2 fuse. Your light switch feeds 12v to your fuse block so all your power goes through the switch so you must have a dead short.
then do what Patrick said.
It is Really hard to tell without pulling wires off the fuse block. I hate electrical chit!

Jack - This is since the car became mine and Only turned the lights on to really check a couple of days before the Scout Show! I have reviewed the wiring diagrams, so I am on track there. I may still drive it the the last Collingswood show for this year on thursday!
Dave - Sounds like a great idea - Put my name on the light switch from your 73. I still have to check my fr4esh air fan for one or two working speeds. By the way, the 'R' in the middle of those Hella tail-lights was for right side (who would have known). It's a shame I was hoping for the left side!
