Post by: Bugaru "JAY" on October 19, 2008, 11:47:07 pm

I realize that there are several threads on this topic, but I'm adding lots of pics so didn't want to congest things.

The Pics should speak words that only pics can. <=== Hows that for a shorty..  777

The picture below is the most puzzeling of the entire day. I beleive this guy was just plain LOST?

Here's a bunch of HitchHickers that I stumbled upon. I think they are holding up a sign saying something about trade VW parts for a ride? Boy they didn't look to happy that I didn't give them a lift. :icon_pale:

When you ride with SJVWC, your never towed alone. Just ask Marc the 1st Place Baja. Lucky for Marc that Super Vision Bahaha-aaaa kept an eye on the rear view and that Super Vision noticed that Marc was missing in action. Hey it was a tuff neighborhood, landmines, naypomb, mortor shells etc yep we almost lost that Bug.

I would take offense to that comment Jack ... but it's TRUE. I have influenced Bob (and maybe his speech pattern).

It's all good ... dude.
Peace

Shawn Cool. I wanted to shoot a Video, but couldn't do stills and Video on the same camera in the same pass, Hm-mmm wonder why  s#r ?

You may also want to burn Ed's Video to a CD and give it to Ed next chance, that's what I normally do because he doesn't have Internet or maybe dosen't go online? Not really sure why, but he has asked for his pics on CD's..

Great Vids!

A little bit most people don't know about that car,

I met Ed back around 1995 when we were members of a now defunct kit car club. At the time Ed & his wife lived in a 1 bedroom condo in Mt laurel and he only had a 1 car garage which he used to build the car. Now Ed never had any sponsorship or backers, it was just him and Rick V working on their cars. The original theme was black "spray bomb paint" with hand painted flames across the nose. Eds original engine was also only a 2007cc mill ( 78 x 90.5 ) but because his skill as a driver and quick reaction times, the car saw many wins over guys with much bigger engines and also sponsors with lots of $$. I also attended Atco the first time the car was on the track and unfortunately it didn't make it off the line, a broken gas pedal hinge right at the light ended that days racing but it didn't stop Ed. Several more visits to the track proved a potent combination of driver and car with Ed finishing in the winners circle many times. If theres one guy in the club that shows what the word "determination" means its Ed ! Racing or just parked at a car show the car gets its share of looks and yes respect from some of the 'big boys" going down the 1320 !

 Shawn. Good Video.

Hey, that was the same run that I took my pics from. It seemed like it took the track crew forever to cleanup the mess down the 1\4 mile from the previous racers. I was going to do a Video also but never got back to Ed when he made his next pass.

By the way not only does Ed's car go fast. He also has Won  bronz_cup-winner at car shows. In fact two at the Delaware A.C. event. It just goes to show, you attend these events, and one never knows.  s#r

No wonder Eds having trouble with his engine now, did you see how long he sat at the line then had to back up and do it again. Then he drives it back to the pits. He had to cook the engine.

Jack,

the car was shut down during the wait. I think his problems are electrical. His MSDS box seems to be drawing down the battery from the time he leaves the pits till he gets to the line. We talked about it and he tried to add an alternator but had problems with the wiring.

Yeah it's electrical...He's got alternator trouble. I ask him why it was important, he told me that because he runs solo he can't charge the battery between runs so he needs a charging system

I do. I laid out the timeline and let my 17 year old finish it. So instead of a 3 minute video of the trip set to Men at Work, I got a 1 minute all fast-forward overload set to Ozzy's Bark at the Moon! I'll redo it soon.
