I have to reiterate again that this is not the boards club, it’s your club. It’s the quality and dedication of the members that make it successful. And to prove it Shawn (Bahaha) donated to the club that lovely and every efficient portable podium, wow*a very expensive item. With its sophisticated sound system and lights it moves us even closer to looking like we know what were doing during a meeting. I can’t thank you enough Shawn.
The whole club owes you a dept of gratitude. The nice thing about the podium is that it works with 110 AC or is fully portable using two lantern batteries so we can use it on our club picnics and other events that require a super audio attention getter-Hay we’re getting bigger all the time.
I remember our first year. Jack would say “It seems that we’re (Bob, Jack and me) the only ones doing all the work. We only had about 12 members then. But things have sure changed. We have members volunteering to help in all phases of club activities.
Unfortunately a lot of members help goes unnoticed, so at this time let me (and the rest of the club) say THANKS!![/

It was my pleasure. Some of you know that I preside over another club. At the first meeting I attended, I watched Bob (who has a thunderous voice) struggle to "hold the room" and I really felt for him. A few months later, we move to what amounts to a great room, but it's soundproof! It sucked the voices right out of the air!
This is what we (the club) needed to make Taylor's the perfect place.
I use one of those in my duties with the radio club and it allows the speaker to concentrate on speaking. Unfortunately Joe was concentrating more on reaching the mic. I already have a fix for it. (no, not a crate )
I said it before... SJVWC is an awsome group of people, and I'm glad to be a member

Yes it did and in a pinch if things get dull, we all can do Karaoke. (((

@@@ Hey I was wondering where that speaker thing-a-ma-gig came from Thanks Shawn .##... #@$
But now for the million dollar question who's going to lug it around? Maybe we should consider putting some wheels on it and dressing it like a small VDub. Or perhaps we need a podium hualler, say John's T-3. That thing would fit in there like a glove. sqBk

It's not bad (weight and size) at all. It folds to the size of a small amp.
Bob M. is the temporary keeper as he brought his truck.

I still think we should use the back of Johns T-3. He would simply have to back up to the event and pop the deck lid, the unit would stay dry and when finished just close the deck lid. Plus think of the options, we could have a rolling VDub cast, picknicks, car shows, tech sessions, etc just add some widescreens and video-cast the event.
