Never seen them in person, but I've seen them before, very cool little vehicles.
Somewhere theres a build thread running around the internet of a guy who is building one with an Audi V8 mounted in it :)
Before we move our meetings one of the staff at Prestige told me somebody stopped in one day driving one. I'd love to see it in person. Almost every one on that page has a big engine. Think it was the yellow one that had a 2332cc with the porsche fan shroud. I'd love to bust into an "All American" cruise with something like that!
Pretty neat...and before it's time. Probably made a good delivery vehicle...that or really closed the gap for those who couldn't decide between a T3 & A Bus! ;D
Considering the production numbers and how many are in the US, I don't think I would want to have one...parts are waaaay too scare...and they would be the parts that are T147 specific that break.
There was one in the video Lemorris just posted

looks like most of the headaches center around the body and rust issues. I'd think that would be the worst of it, everything else is a mix & match of type 1, 2 & 3 stuff.
If you were good in sheet metal fabrication I don't think the panels would be too hard to reproduce, but for $25,000 I'd think you might want one thats rust free!

Yeah...for $25k one may not be hard to make from a T2 & T3...someone has probably already done this in Alabama somewhere, far from the reaches of the internet :D
Actually I saw one driving in De when I went to visit my brother last year, didnt get the tags so not sure if it was from the state or not. Did a triple take, almost crashed 888, wish I could have caught up with him........
but then again, and better yet, saw a Heb, so did other club members in a year or so ago at the De Dover show :icon_thumleft:
ALways wanted to see one!

Hey Matt,
I've got ya beat! I've seen two of em!,
the one from Delaware its a real beauty.
A few years back a guy named Terry Schuller who was a writer for the old VW Trends mag, always came to Maple Grove with a stack of shirts for sale and other stuff. One year he brought a red & white Heb, a real beauty. He had been working on it for years and it was nearly finished. Always wondered what happened to him and his car. They are amazing vehicles, somewhat primitive but beautiful, almost hand made !
that Fridolin in So jersey has been bothering me for a couple of months. I'd love to get that guy in the club! Hey we've recently gotten a "Bus Brigade" why not a "Fridolin squad" too!
Wow,
To have a Frid in the club would be cool....I would like to really check one out. Bet they have some unique construction
M
- & you are a tough guy to beat!
One of my goals is to show you a car you dont know! ;D

There was one in the last Video that Lemoris sent us in the DHP's fund raiser.

saw that one and it got me thinking about this. If you are into "weird air cooled" this is right up there with the T-3 ghia and the Tatra
