If it doesn't load up right away wait a couple of minutes, it's still processing.
You should readjust your choke.

Got you there, Jack! :icon_geek:
Took me 2 hours and a propane heater to get mine to start after a 2 week nap
Sounds good but it will be much easier when Dad builds that garage!
Let's say for instance I did want to mess with the choke, the only thing I touch is the cylinder on the right hand side of the carb thats held one with three screws. Right? Just make sure that the fast idel came is resting at the top of the thing with the notches in it and make sure that the choke allows some air in it shouldn't be fully closed. I promise I won't touch it unless Mr. Jack gives me the ok. ;D
I do remember saying that, but what the hell, go for it.
Lol alright jack ill mess with it on my next day off. Monday :-(

!fright! I'll watch I1t
Greg,
Do you have to stomp on the gas pedal that many times?, I just push it down 1-2 times and it starts right up.
Think there is some slight flooding going on there, or washing the cylinders with some gas?
I sit in the car for about for about 20 sec.s for a nice low rpm run to be stable then scurry back into my house
Are those your PJ's! cool!
How's your bug heat? If you ever go to bilge blowers for heat assist, I recommend it! It really does help!
Remember it takes real men to drive VW's every day regardless of the temp or conditions! - so ferget those pj's!
:icon_tongue:

Matt,
I think it's a choke problem, when it's warmer it's one or two pumps otherwise it's 4 pumps when I drove it the day before. I haven't been driving the bug because work has me all worn out and my drive to the new location is stressful for me and the bug. The pj's are mine, I've always liked the grinch more than santa it's just one of those things that I'll never to get to old for. For the heat, the heat is ok the main problem is the air that comes throught uncovered speaker grill. I honestly don't know why I took it out in the first place...oh yeah to put my custom horn button there. =-) I don't wanna work on the blowers yet b/c it seems like something I'll get stressed out about and hate myself. :wallbash:
Greg
=-)
Where in PA do you live? I know a great diner in West Chester and one near Neuman College
For all you guys who hate fuel injection and like to rip it out...my 76 always started on the first crank no matter how cold...no stomping on the gas pedal or chokes to mess with :icon_wink:
What if something important fails? ;D
Went out to look at the choke today, I gave it 1 pump to allow the fast idle screw to go onto the proper notch. I took off the air cleaner to look at the choke, and the choke wasn't fully closed. So I loosened the 3 screws to close the choke moved the element and it had no effect. If you push it close with your finger *with some force* it would close but then the fast idle screw that sits on the notch falls of it and goes past the piece with the notches in it. Are you suppose to hold the arm back when adjusting the choke? I think that's where I messed up now that I think about it.
Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze question?sign
