Hope that any one whose rig is not down for repairs or upgrades got a chance to take out their ride for a top off of fresh gas. I was not the only one. Saw a ton of bikers, a sweet GTO & a sharp red Alfa Romero while I was out enjoying the warm fresh air in my flamebug** :icon_sunny:
I took the bus out today for a 35 mile cruise, had an EMPI shifter
put in and it took my awhile to find the gears they are so close but
the reverse trigger was a breeze to use. Nothing inside beside me
and two front seats, next step is onto the sound deadening mat.
Had my Son's GPS to check my speedo. it is off by 5 miles because
of the bigger tires (going 65 I'm only doing 60) It isn't how fast
you can go but how fast you can stop. I can stop on a dime and give you 9 cents change BO** All in all it is still a work in progress
Stopped by our fire house and the guys want to media blast it, clean it up and paint it fire engine red (no thanks)
Also nice to have the oil pressure gauge and idot light working.
Congrats bud, you old speed demon!

Bud
'you better invest in a radar detector, that bus is a big target!
I did something yesterday I ahven't done in years. Got up early and went over to the Berlin Farmers Market. After walking around the back part I went inside and found the magazine shop that has all the back issues. I bought 3 back issues of "Rod & Custom" went across the mart and got a bag of fresh roasted peanuts, went home and had a nice "reading hour" sitting on the back deck.
Rod & Custom has been around for years and its one of my favorite non-VW magazines. The 3 issues I bought had a seriese of great articles about metal working and fixing rust. If it can be done to a 52 Chevy you can be sure it can be done to a VW. So please no flames about "not doing VW stuff" indirectly I was!
Hey Bud, glad to hear you got the bus out! Great!
As scarecrow said, it was a nice day
I started up the 55 and let it idle. Didnt take it down the street as our roads are wet with still a ton of salt on them
Not a good combination!
