Type 3's have a true automatic trans. Has anyone ever tried to put one in Beetle ??? Now that would be a cool laid back ride if it were possible P#3

No. It would be an insult to type 3's everywhere.

Its not a straight bolt in affair but it can be done with some fabrication.

Many years back I looked at an early 70s bug with an auto, full auto not autostick. Owner swore up and down it was all original, I didnt know enough about VWs at the time to be able to tell if it was modified or not but I've never seen proof of the existence of factory autos in a bug.
