I flip over the back of it to see how the wiring would work. Seems like I need a cigarette adaptor. My GPS adaptor may work, but Id only be able to use one thing at a time once the GPS battery dies.
The adaptor I need looks like this can be found here...
Cigarette Adaptor (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.retailblue.com/images/BN/ONP0133.jpg&imgrefurl=https://www.retailblue.com/cigarette-lighter-power-cable-pr-30013589.html&usg=__Oez_PCTPBJj-nQwZ3jUobEIuVHo=&h=165&w=250&sz=13&hl=en&start=3&um=1&tbnid=4KAyGx3NTsyAuM:&tbnh=73&tbnw=111&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcigarette%2Blight%2Badaptor%2Bsource%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1)
But I'm not spending 25 dollars on it, that's more than the CB cost!!!!
I went out to test the CB, and it makes static, and the microphone makes a clicking sound inside the CB. So I'm guessing it works. Won't know for sure till I get the antennae. I should have taken the one out of the Falcon before we sold it. @7@
I use to have a cigarette lighter adaptor for my CD player but I think i threw it out when I was cleaning out my drawers. @7@
Keep an eye open for me.
They are cheap at an auto store.
oh yeah? I'll check Autozone on my way to work. I also found one on ebay for a dollar plus shipping comes to about 4 dollars.
Gregg.. Don't click the mic without an antenna installed, I think you can do damage, CK w/ Bahaha
Yes, and once you get an antenna ,get the standing wave (swr) set most truckstops with a radio shop can do it. or you can get a meter at radio shack. it will set your antenna to the proper length for optimum performance 1.5 or lower across the band (1-40 ) is desired if too high it will create heat in the final transitors and fry your radio. cb/ham radio is on of my past hobbies !! ::)
Im going to check autozone for the antenae. I hope I didnt mess it up clicking the mic!!
Clicking the mic wont kill it... But tansmittiong for any period of time might. I dont recommend the cigarette lighter plug. I have some nice plugs that will make it removable.

??? English Please.
I bought my antenna...if you want to call it that...today. The only thing I heard on the way home was a faint dixie horn. So either the antenna is crap, or there's just no activity on the 23 channels I have.
I take it you've installed it... A faint Dixie horn is what I would expect. They really are dead, but that's why I suggested using them. If you put it on ch 19 during your commute you might hear something, but probably not unless you're near the AC xway during work hours. We'll have to hook-up prior to the next event and test it.
Are you going to Collingswood Shawn? I'll bring it with them then.
Some of the fishermen use cbs on their boats in fortescue cant remember if it was 14 or 16
What is the range of a CB?
That depends on the atmospheric conditions if (skip) is running usually in late summer/fall you could talk from one state to another however most of the time with a stock radio and short antenna a few miles should be no problem ( skip in simple terms:) when radio signal bounces up off the atmosphere and is directed way out there are some times it will make a double bounce usually in the fall off the atlantic and you can hear bases from the UK I have quite a few post cards from the ones I have talked to. WA#
It's been a while but I think it was 16 AM & 17 SSB on CB. I used to spend my summers on Barnegat Bay, allways fun to talk to the boats.
Gee Traveler, if you still have your ticket, that makes 3 of us, including Jack. s#r Wonder if there's any interest... 2 meters in the cars would be awesome!
I would have to look for 2 meter gear all I have left is my HF stuff
