After about 30 years of use, I'm finally going to retire my old RemLine tool box. This box has truly served me well :icon_cry:

All the rest are the same, packed to the gills. It was starting to be a bit of a pain. looking for stuff.
Anyway, I saved up all my nickles and dimes, from scrapping copper, aluminum, steel and such. Then went out shopping. First of all, I knew I couldn't come close to affording a Snap-on, Matco. So, I looked at the boxes at Home Depot, Lowes, Sears and Harbor Freight.......
Anyway, after a whole lot of deep thought, looking at quality, price, the winner is.......

Harbor Freight.
With it being on sale and using a 20% coupon, I got it for $320. I tried using another coupon, to bring it down to $300, but, they didn't bite :icon_cheesygrin:
This tool box is awesome, ball bearing glides, drawer liners, heavy duty and most of all...spacious. What's even more amazing, is that I started moving some tools over from the old box and I'm finding tools that I forgot I even had LAUGH@
On the minus side, I have to find room for it. Shoot, it's about as big as my garage :icon_cheesygrin:

Ya can't beat Harbor freight of tools. I've been collecting their cheapo hand tools since I fried a $95.00 Black & Decker drill. I replaced it with an 'on sale" $29.00 "Chicago" brand that does variable speeds, forward & reverse and has a "hammering" mode. Haven't killed it yet! I also picked up a cheapo electric die grinder, a saws all ( built similar to a Russian tank and weighs as much ) and a second drill ( hey it was on sale! ). I've got their welding cart for my mig and even their solar lights in my back yard. I (love that place!
Maybe I'm just unlucky, bought an Chicago electric die grinder lasted 5 minutes died. Rigid brand from Home Depot have yet to let me down
Pete. Your making me Drool. I checked out that same Box and have been kicking it around for over 2 years now just can't bring myself to spend the bucks, but now your enticing me to do so. And Your Right. It is a Very Well Made Box, especially for the Price.

save the old tool box. I inherited my Dads 6 drawer. I keep my tool box for everything metric and vw related. the other box is for all standard US tools.

thats too bad, Mike P. bought one and it went up in smoke. They exchanged it no questions asked. I think he bought it originally on sale for something like $9.95.

John, The RemLine is actually going into semi retirement. I'm moving it to the basement, where it will become my machinist cabinet. It will go great with my old Logan lathe, the old Enco mill and the old Buffalo drill press ;D
I like the old one, it looks like it has a lot of character, and garage stories to tell.....

Just bought mine today with a side box. This baby is friggin heavy!
Should be done with my new shed this weekend, then will look for a new tool box, guess I will look at H/F
