Title: rocker arms
Post by: rockdog2877 on May 26, 2009, 07:59:50 PM
ok well I got around to adjusting the valves on the bus. I got through #1 and #2, with little trouble. (#2 was very tight)
I went to start numbers 3 and 4, I realized the valve cover spring was not going to go down past the heater box. I installed the 74 style and this was the first time I had tried. I pushed it up knowing I would regret it later. the first thing I noticed that it was missing the small thin clip that sits around the push rods. I had a spare floating in my parts bucket, and when I went to install it I noticed this.......(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2450/3568627424_8c2e21bf3b.jpg)

the assembly seems to be wrong. the "space" is on top. do you think this will be aproblem, should I leave the clip out?
any tips on getting the clip down over the valve cover?

Your this far, you may as well take it off and flip it over.

Put a wire around the clamp so you can pull it down.

I didn't know if it was a simple step or something that was going to be more involved. I will have at it later on.
