Title: Now that the flange is fixed....
Post by: marcr1 on June 17, 2009, 12:54:31 PM
thanks again for all the help with the flange.  and yes a piece was broken off but no telling how long ago, so i will just cross my fingers and hope for the best.

my next question is a carb issue.    i have 34/3  and the larger screw (bypass) is always moving out of adjustment.
i swapped it with another one and it still moves after a few miles.
Does anyone have a trick to keep it from moving .

Does it have the rubber O ring around it ?

yes it does and it seems to be in good shape.it looks like it sticks out just past the threads of the screws.

Haven't looked at one in a while but I think it sits in a groove right about where the threads end. Stupid idea but is it possible the threads are stripped ? I've got one on one of my cars also and its usually very tight.

if it is stripped it would be on the carb side. this is the 2nd bypasss screw i tried.  and they both slip.

Replace the O ring ring seal and it won't move anymore. I think I have some.
