Another video resurfacing. I was going to use this for the DVD at PBD but I ended up not going. Make sure your sound is up.

Hey Cecil B. De Beet,
how tough would it be to put all your vids on a DVD? I'm thinking it might be nice to have something to show at events. I know this has been kicked around before but a nice archive of the club and activities might be the thing to throw on a portable DVD player. Could be volume I, II, III,........and on??
-
As of right now I believe my DVD burner is no longer working, the last batch of DVD's may have done it in. I will try again, maybe it was just a bad file. We could also stream it right from a computer to a TV like a play list.
I also wanted to talk to Jack about possibly getting a club external hard drive. There are a few of us now that are taking video, if we brought the external to club meetings to share club videos we would be able to vary the videos more. Example, like instead of using the video of my bug having the holes cut out and welded back in, I could have gone into the club external and pulled the file jack had of Matt's link pins. I would never suggest letting anyone bring the external home, maybe with a deposit *WE KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE* Just a thought for better more varied videos, especially when it comes to club events. We could even have a club picture folder where we could all dump out pictures. Now this WOULD require clubs making a deposit or a withdrawl from the club external to have a laptop.
Just a thought.

Neat ideas! I have a portable DVD player. I think it's battery only lasts about an hour though without getting plugged in. We should put a bunch of stuff together to run during certain shows where we're trying to gather new members. (ie - Punchbuggy!)
Or maybe similar to the collage of our cars that Joe brings to the Chrismas party... maybe we can do a large poster collage of club events to have at the club tent. I'd be happy to help with something like that... but I don't have a good printer for photos. Does anyone know a printer?? I1t

I think I can help out here. Give me to the meeting on Monday to come up with something...

Does anyone know a printer??
Michelle,
love to do it but.... (love
my stuff is strictly offset printing as in no color photos. We could enlist the local Kinkos or go on line to one of the thousands of online wide format digital deals that specialize in posters.

Those of you with fancy cameras it's better to take the biggest pics and the crop then down, that way if we do send them off they won't be as pixelated.

Greg,
I Really like the idea as to why join,
but for my 2CENTS, the vid needs more variety, very short clips of what it offers, dont know if we have still pics/vids of but at one time I did see pics of all below
3-gears' tranny removal at Jacks
Pulling someones engine
Engine assembly ( part of class)
Sanding (party)of someones bus 888
Welding class
picnic
xmas
car trailer -ing
about 5 car shows
camp outs
somebody helping with electrical work
Fixing someones car on the road ( ex Johns' T3)
welding
linkpins
club meetings
club's caravans to show
link pin work :icon_wink:
cruises
largest group photo ( member wise)
pics of club members cars ( would be real fast clips here.... for T-3's, A REALLY FAST clip)
camaraderie
that's just off the top of my head. When I saw your video header of "Why Join SJVWC" these are some of the things ( and there are many more other could add) I thought of.
Be cool to put a video like that under the Forum header of "FOR GUEST AND JOINING SJVWC" That way, potential members can see what this club is all about.
I know it would be a BIG undertaking... again just my 2CENTS
Good job again, & once again, loved a lot of the music!

Hmm about the above, missed some of your previous posts - seems like you had the same idea
-
Sounds like a contest is in order.... s#r
-
Yeah Matt, that is why we need a communal external so we can grab what we need instead of burning it to a media.
-
Contest? I enjoy contests as much as car shows.
-
I've got this covered. I'll be bringing a donation of a Western Digital external to the club meeting Monday with at least 250 GB capacity. I get them sometimes at work for nada. It's all yours.......
-
Wow!
I'm impressed with your idea's and dedication. :icon_sunny:
Perhaps the finished product can be run on Taylor's screen during the meeting (no sound).

They don't pay attention to you now...You want to distract 'em more? LAUGH@ LAUGH@ LAUGH@

Rich - you're great!! :icon_cheers:
I like Matt's list for a video. What Greg put together is a good starting point... but I think we need more photos or videos of the fun stuff and the actual people.
I gotta agree with Shawn... maybe we show it once at the meeting but if you play it on a loop and at every meeting they won't pay attention.... Or maybe we don't show it at the meetings and tell people they gotta come to a show to see it. :icon_cheesygrin:
My DVD player is small, but it is portable. And does have some battery life before needing charged. Maybe if we have a couple that each have a battery life of an hour, we can make it through a car show without running a generator!
-
Greg ... if you need any of my still images I shot at Punchbuggy ... it's not a problem. Check out my Photobucket. I have other images from other shows ... they haven't been loaded to my bucket yet.

Thanks Bud that means a lot. Now if only I can get over my fear of taking pictures of people. I get annoyed when people do stupid things in front of the camera, I prefer doing candid shots.
Mike thanks for your permission to use your images!!
Now that we don't have to deal with youtube's crap, I think making a longer video with the music we want will make the experience more enjoyable. Lets start fillin' up that hard drive!

Shawn/Greg, are members to bring whatever pics they have on a cd to the meeting? - I'm planning on going to the next one...
-
You could post them on Picasa (or the photo website you prefer) so anybody who wants to make a video or Collage can access them. If you want, bring a CD and I'll put them up there. If your computer challenged you can bring any style memory card with the photos on them (especially the video of my Baja leaving the campground- Hint Hint) and I'll copy them to a hard drive and put them up
