Title: engine case
Post by: marcr1 on August 11, 2009, 12:30:39 PM
Hi All,

Nothing goes smoothly. My mechanic has taken apart my engine for the rebuild and found thhat the bearing in the engine case was not sitting properly.  He needs to send the case out for machining and then put in a larger diameter bearing.
you guys know of any tricks or is this the way to go the cost is about 200.00 for the machining.
and a new case is much more expensive.

That is the only way to go if the center main or thrust beat up the case.

I know i need to listen, just double checking.

Guy has my car 3 weeks and did nothing for 2 1/2 of them. so i am just a little annoyed.
he came highly recommended and only works on 1 car at a time. I did not know this going in.
OH well by the time i get it back it will be time to put it away for the season.
