So, I've decided NOT to go to Germany in favor of the ultimate Camping Machine... no we aren't talking about a Winnebago.
May marks my I gotta have a bus by this date. I'd much rather have one that is worn in because I want to paint it crazy and would feel bad about painting over it. I've checked the Samba and there are a lot of decent busses in my price range. $61$ So it's time to save up...
Anywho, I was looking for the perfect day to set as a goal for said Type II. Like this Gem...

However I wouldn't dare to paint over that paint! I know that this will be gone in the 5 months of me paying off and saving, but it's good to know that there are some decently priced VW's still around.

well it has the right tires
ROFL. There's one I'm looking at that doesn't... and go figure they are flat. It might be the only thing stopping me from driving it home. It's a miss match paint job but it looks really cool. It probably won't be around in 5 months.
I would buy that in an instant, but it would cost that much
to ship it to the west coast as it costs.
Guess i'll have to keep looking.
Yuma ( Sonny )
i saw a bay window westy at a junk yard in atco. it looks complete. from rt. 30 in berlin go east, take a right on cooper folly road and the yard is down on your right. i'd stay away from the bus you posted. totally dry busses like tyler's are around.
and probably out of my price range LOL! As long as t runs and stops im golden. If it lasts 10 years I'll be happy!
check the one i posted about. if you wait it may be gone. busicon2
If it's at the yard I think it is they don't like me very much. They kicked me out because I was "wasting their time". I didn't know they were going to baby sit me while I was in there.
Wait it's not, maybe I'll swing by there this weekend. It's a tiny yard between Bartal and Villas Ct.

I dunno about buying a bus at a scap yard, there might be some weird small things missing that are easily over looked.
Take a Bus Geek with you! I'm sure someone with bus knowhow would be willing to Look at it with you. Maybe even John s#r
I'll go look at it myself, and if it's missing headlights and chit or 1/3 of the engine is missing I'll say forget it. I don't mind holes in the body, I just don't want to figure out why the lights aren't coming on.
Anyway, no sense in worrying about it till I have the money in hand.

Ok I'm going off topic for a min but what is that thing changing colors and running under your name Yucel
I think its an alien llama from another planet. screwey))
Greg- Dave had a good idea about taking a Bus Geek... I volunteer Yucel. I think that's a good idea, don't you Ty?
As long as I can wear my alien llama suit and we can go on Halloween

worked out well for me Yucel will crawl all around that bus and come up with a smile and tell you his findings.
I was checking that bus out too. I love green busses and the green plaid interior.
i think we need a seisure warning on any site that has been taken by the alien llama
I was thinking adding club music to the website...
If you do............then there will be only 2 tents left........ :icon_confused:

Looking great Shawn, what are you doing for paint? I think it would be cool to stain and seal. Put some stripes on it. Sorry Matt, I've seen the light. Westys are the way to go!
Woops.... Not mine. Just messing with Matt WA#

Cool... I can envision it now... running through the pines @ night with swampers and night vision... rolling up to the campsite and not evening having to breakout the taj (even though you would have it with you, of course)... breaking out the banjo (or any other number of instruments you always carry) and dueling with the Jersey devil (while making him hobo taters and a milkshake) and simultaneously be downloading everything on the internet for everyone else to enjoy!
did i mention how much i love camping with BAHAHA!!! BO** BO** BO**
Yeah I agree, you and dad were truly missed at the last camp out!
