Title: Pictures from Katie's Ole' Dutch Cruise
Post by: matt on October 25, 2009, 05:08:02 pm
The weather was beautiful, and temps were perfect for running your VW!

Thanks to everyone coming out, and although we only finished ~35% of the cruise...  at least we have something to look forward to:  Katie's Ole' Dutch Cruise Part II!

For this part we will  get the ol' car tanks filled up, as well as the ol' stomach tank filled up   and quickly start in Lancaster Pa and continue the cruise.

Hope you all enjoyed the trail!

No one got lost...well, not for too long anyway,  and for part II we will pick up more speed  burnrubber

Katie and I had a good time, the food and company were great as usual, and Katie got a new puppy to bring home!

This day could not have been better, clear crisp skies, little road traffic....

Katie put up some pics on her photobucket, you can visit them below.

THANKS  to Jay for helping out :icon_thumleft:, and THANKS for everyone who made the trip! Glad you could make it!!!!!!

Matt & katie

Awesome cruise  sjvwc.ico!!

I really enjoyed those dutch country roads- winding around, rolling hills, beautiful fall foliage, a covered bridge, and being surrounded by VW's...  (love

We saw lots of cool animals - first Katie's new puppy, then cows, horses, horses pulling buggies, a blue heron, ponies, donkies, sheep and (my all time fave) billy goats!    $61$

If anyone goes to Isaac's for lunch - I'd highly recommend the caramel Dutch apple pie!   :icon_cheers:

Thanks again Matt & Katie!

Glad everyone had a good time, that is what it was all about - though I did try to stick to the schedule, but oh well, that is perfectly fine, rather go easy & have a good time than rush around all the time....

Maybe I can have another big sundae? :icon_cheesygrin:

LAUGH@ ...Anytime you get the chance - how were their desserts anyway?, I liked their food,.... maybe, I'll try that dutch apple pie that Michelle suggested!

I hope by next year they will have fixed the one bridge they were working on,
and......
completed their move of another one - now I just have to find it... 888

Matt & Kaite & the as yet unamed cruise puppy!  ( Thanks Jay, she loves that thing! - it'll be a good reminder for her of the cruise - )

To Everyone. For a Cruise that was almost a year in the making it was well worth it. Also glade that Matt decided to wait the rain out for a Beautiful  :icon_sunny: day. Great Cruise, a Special Thanks to Matt and Kattie for all of your research and scouting efforts. Glade Kattie enjoyed the Puppy, it's not everyday that dad will let there daughters have a puppy. I kept seeing Kattie, and the puppy poping their heads up and out of the sunroof as the puppy's ears were flopping in the wind.. $61$

I don't think I ever rememberd seeing so many Amish horse and Buggies on the those roads before. One thing for sure, most of those folks are normally shy and avoid outsiders. But they all seemed to enjoy the carivan of Bugs and actually gave us the thumbs up several times. Even the little Amish boys were pointing and  WA# at us and that Monster Baha-ha
Suggestion. Next time we take a Cruise that covers considerable distances and time we need to do two things. They are Get & Eat less.
 1. Move along a little faster.  drive&& and
 2. Stop for food a little less. I'm amazed at how much food some skinny people can eat. What's up with that a Tapeworm?  LAUGH@

Another suggestion would be to turn this event into a two day'er. Saturday Campout, into Sunday.

Hey did anyone get any good Photos of those restored and working Steam Locomotives. They were huge.

Jack - Awesome video!   P#3

Greg - nice photos man!!   $61$

Jay - you were reading my mind.  On the way back to Dirty Jersey, we passed a campground and I said to Yucel, "we should camp next year, I would love to spend more time out here!" People who don't want to camp can just meet up with us.  I really hope we can get more VW's out for it next time... this was fabulous!

Camping is a great idea, maybe I can find an area in Lancaster or near it - or if someone else has a mid location in mind...I think one was generally mentioned..

Thanks Jack, for setting my claims straight, here is another one....
