Found this '70 rolling chassis & body with NJ title on Samba located in West Deptford. Jay came along with me to help. He had it hitched up to my truck in about 37 seconds itstrue & with his guidance & encouragement I actual managed to tow it home #@$ This is the first time I've ever towed anything, ever 888 Plus with his Indian scout tracking abilities he lead me home via no drama back roads :icon_thumleft: Thanks Dude!
Unlike the rusty, bent, hacked up, patched & bondo covered body of the Rat this has all it's factory unmolested sheet metal still intact. Cost $300
My plan is to remove the body, restore & lightly modify to my likening then drop it onto the Rat's pan.
Additional this will leave me with a titled pan which I will use as a base to build my Dune Buggy some time down the road.
We may have even recruited a new member in Mr. Washburne who sold it to me. He's currently working on a '68 Beetle
Stay tuned for a new build blog. gifsawsall weldface W#W

Gonna swap the body onto my current rig weldface gifsawsall
Why?
@7@ Why you swapping the bodies? Make a whole new rig!!!
I want a full fendered ride compete with heat. My original plan was to put a new rear clip on the Rat & add necessary parts to have heat, but the Rats body is rusty, bent, hacked up, patched & bondo. Trust me it's a real abortion. But all the mechanicals on it are new and/or rebuilt.
My plan is to remove the body from the the rig I bought, restore & lightly modify to my likening then drop it onto the Rat's pan. I think this would be easyer than tranfering all the mechanicals from the Rat to the new ride. I don't have enough funds to make two running vehicles
Additional this will leave me with a titled pan with QQ tags which I will use as a base to build my Dune Buggy some time down the road.

Yes a entirely new Rig built by combining both cars
What's wrong with the rat? Why now have 3 awesome VW's?
