Title: Greetings from Columbia!
Post by: njgt-1 on January 13, 2010, 12:02:44 pm
Guys,

No I didn't give up on New Jersey and move to South America!  WA#

I got an e-mail from a friend, Rodrigo Kurmen who happens to live in Bogata Columbia. He was kind enough to update me on several of his projects and I thought you motorheads out there might like to see VW restoration "Columbian Style".

If anybody remembers Rodrigo was the guy who took a trip around North America and visited me about 11 years ago in a 74 auto stick bug. Now this was before the days of reliable GPS units but he covered a 9000+ mile trip and eventually went back to his home country to begin restoration on several amazing cars. Anyway heres the links....Enjoy and drool I know I am!!

You guys are right about the coffee but VWs thats another story. Rodrigo has sent me many amazing photos of the events. Some of the best looking VWs and classic cars are hiding down there! The VW shows are amazing with hundreds of cars, vintage beetles, customs & cal lookers plus tons of T-2s, T-3s and even rare stuff such as "razor edge ghias', frids, and coach builts. South America has a huge VW following and tons of very well preserved vintage cars. Yea, I might have to take a vacation there some day!
