Hey does anybody in the club have a Bently book for a VW BUS 68?-72ish? I have a Haynes book, but the info on the sliding door is limited.
The problem,
Outside handle moves, but it doesn't work to open door inside door handle is way out of adjustment it makes contact with the metal on the door.
What I know
Panel is off I can see two cables one is disconnected outside door handle? The other is connected which you can see working when the inside handle is moved.
I have no idea where the other cable is suppose to go or even if it's suppose to be there in the first place.
When you open the door it falls off the track, you can go outside and lift it up into the track again.
What I need
Picture of what the door should look like when the cables are properly installed.
I watch Jacks video on fixing his door I'm wondering if the rollar or that block is messed up making the door fall off alignment.

That's a lot cheaper than my bug book! I just wanna look at it.
-
But if you intend on keeping the bus, it's the best thing you can buy.

Good point. No beer this week =-(

This is the only forum I need. =-)

The cables have nothing with the door falling off the track.
-
I know this, but do they have something to do with the door handles? Is one cable for the outside and one for the inside?

That's weird.... the piece that M connects to I don't have at all.
... funny. Because the 1980 latch does not have that.

Problem solved? Time to check the parts box ha ha.
I'll deal with the falling off the runner later, I just want to open the door from the outside.
