Title: WOW What a great Christmas Party
Post by: lovebus (jack) on December 04, 2010, 06:33:45 pm
Joe and his elf's did a bang-up job and this was one of the best parties to date, three cheers for Joe and his helpers.

We had a great turnout, I think around 55 or 57 and the food was excellent. I think everyone went home with a prize or two and thanks to Greg for playing again for us.

I don't know what you can do to top this one.

I'm glad the Ward family came out, it was great having them attend.

That was a blast! I'm so glad Joe wanted to carry on the tradition. I couldn't hold a candle (er Heat Gun) to this evening.

Thanks Joe!

WOW, every year I say it can't get any better, and it always does get better. Thanks to all for the planning, prizes, games, sing along w/ Joe, music by Greg(Greg, I wish I could sound as good on that horn), and hangin out with the gang from SJVWC. What a blast. Just would have liked to have circulated more and talked with everyone. Well there's always next year.

Welp...Monday night is the meeting!

Yes, many thanks to Greg. It's very different listening to a single horn. But he really does know how to make it sing.

And if you missed it, "The Bus Song" has been preserved for all eternity

Yep, Monday's are tough for me, maybe next year I can make it to more of the meetings but definitely can be there in the Summer after school is out.

Anyway next year I'm thinking about a brass trio or quartet for our party. A quintet would be nice, but, does anyone know of a French horn player?

I can't even begin to find the words to express how much I look forward to & enjoy the SJVC Xmas party and I don't even like Xmas LOL. Feel bad the wife was under the weather she loves the party also. And to think that I almost sold my Bus, I'm ashamed of myself. No better people could ever be found any where. So glad that I'm a part of this great group. You all are the best!

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO MADE THE CHRISTMAS PARTY SUCH A GREAT SUCCESS!  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

It seems to get better all the time!

Wish we could have stayed to the very end, but still had a great time!  Although our team did not win the quiz ('cause we convinced scarecrow he was wrong about the first question) we still had fun!  Congrats to the team that got the final question right...you know,... the team that had Yucel on it, and Michelle making up the questions...Hmmm, we all thought it was just a coincidence ....hah!    ( just kiddng)

Joe did a great job as usual, he keeps things moving, and keeps things entertaining as well.  Shawn did  a great job with the special prize awards - everything was well done!

Good to see everyone as usual!  It is the people that made the party great!

and the food was good too!

Thanks to SJVWC for picking up a good portion of the tab!

Another great party!!! Was glad I was asked to play again, though I would have done it anyway. Thanks to those who tipped, It let me get one more beer at the bar. =-p Dad I know a French Horn player, but it will take some convincing to get him to come to the party. Everybody went home a winner which is what I love best about these parties! Looking forward to next year's!

 Looking forward to next year's!

You got enough of a tip for an extra beer, VW folks are big tippers.

How about "Christtmas In June" then we could do it twice a year.....

Thanks Guys for all the compliments!

No one can pull this off alone. I had great help. I hope, I don't miss anyone:

First, our new President Shawn, who was sick as a dog and still he  managed to do the wood work to produce some really special one of a kind trophies. Shawn also donated the much coveted 'Trader Joe's' cooler bags with the VW bus on them.

To Michelle- I just left the quiz part to her and she came up with a slam-dunk of a series of VW head bangers. And also she donated the tire pressure gauges

Jack Kessel who donated the " Battery Tender" (charger) and the long reach double wrench set.

Ramon who donated the bucket of car chemicals and getting a $50 gift certificate from Savage VW.

Savage VW who donated a $50.00 gift certificate

Greg Beatleboy for entertaining us with Christmas songs.

Rust Bullet for donating $70 worth of Rust Bullet anti- corrosion paint.

Action Auto in Vineland for donating EMP Catalogs, Calenders and Decals.

Family Imports who gave us a discount on the engraving for trophies.

Checkers who donated some 40 coupons for free Burgers.

Moe's Mexican for donating 'buy one get one free' coupons.

Taylor's for not only providing us with a great place for our affairs but also for giving us two $25 gift certificates.

For the other Vendors that said they were sending something- keep posted-we'll use anything they send for next year's party.

Please note, not everyone got the same thing in their stockings - Because that number was based on the final count of members at the specified deadline. Even after that I hustled to make up yet more stockings.  Jack, Shawn and myself all gave up our stockings so of that some other member might have one.

I'm sure I missed someone or some thing.

Well, it's time to start working on next years party.
