Found this old picture of the Zonker for the year I won I-Gas at the NHRA Summer Nationals (1972) at Englishtown.
Was looking at the thread (http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=455550&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0) for the upcoming Englishtown Show and Go and there it was. **^bana0 I had this photo but lost it a real oldie but goodie you wont see anymore.

What he said %$oldcit make me one too.
John I think the rules called for 8" minimum so thats what it would be and yes I did the chop.
Bob thats where my shop was, it was a Riggins Gas Station with 3 bays. till I bought my own place and moved about 1 mile south.
OK I'll get it done.
What we need to do is find the damn car! Somebody has to know where it is bawlin)0

OH, the car next to me was Darrell Vittone and and the one next to his was their NY Empi car I forget who the last one was it was another CA car..
The guy with the bald head and T Shirt is Gene Berg.
Jack
How much did the car weigh race ready?
Bob I'm guessing 1100lbs.
I would have to try and find the class specks for a I-Gaser in the late 60s to know for sure.

I'd like to do a new poster "Meeting tonight" with our members cars. I think the picture of the "Screaming Zonker " should be in the middle.
