How or Can I, make my older computer read a 4GB SD card? :confused04:; It only reads up to 2GB, if I put a 4GB it don't read it.

Go to Best Buy and get a USB external card reader for about 15 bucks and call it a day.

If you're talking about a computer with an SD slot built in, go to the manufacturers website and download the latest driver for the SD reader.

I think Walmart even may have the USB external readers too. Not sure....

OK after 20 mins. trying to download drivers this is what I found out, NO drivers to to make a SD card reader to read SDHC cards. Below is what others do. I should just went with Easy. (o;

First I tried to buy a really cheap SDHC reader for about $4.99.  It was really bad and would very seldom work properly.  I took the unit back to the store, they tested it and found it was crappy too--I got one of the two cheap units to work, but they could not get any of them to go.

I upgraded to the more expensive model SDHC card reader that was $9.99 and that one worked like a champ--completely reliable.  Both of these were junky made in China units.

 Well to lazy to go to the store so I just ordered from Amazon Kingston 19-in-1 USB 2.0 Flash Memory Card Reader FCR-HS219/1

I went way out and spent the Big bucks $10.74 because it had such good reviews and it reads all cards, yup, 19 in 1 2@@cool

   Older versions of XP ,can,t bigger cards than 2gigs,go for an a card reader. byeby.,

Got my 19 in One card reader today, works Great, now I can read any size card on my old computer. :jump4jo":

It''s not the that XP cant read the larger cards it's the electronics built into the computer

I have an XP too..they certainly have their quirks.
