Because your still a young lad just starting out in life and young men and women such as yourself are known not to have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.
You are getting there tho, because I know you have a window to throw it out of, so things are looking up.
In another 30 years you will have that extra monies to throw around if you a good retirement plan plus a 401k, then you die.
As Ol Frankie boy use to say, Thats life.

That's right... the only two certainties in life : death and taxes. %$oldcit

1986-1991 VW Vanagon Camper Syncro
There are very few Volkswagens that have earned collector-car status. Surprisingly, one is the classic Type 2 VW Microbus. A 1963 VW Samba Microbus went for $217,800 at a prominent auction this spring. Wow. The next generation of VW bus, the Type 3 from 1980 to 1991, has increased in value too?specifically the later Westfalia Camper models with four-wheel drive.
The reason is that these compact vans offer real 4WD capability and allow owners to camp just about anywhere. The Syncro (4WD) package included an ultra-low first gear in the five-speed transmission and came with an optional locking rear differential. Locking front differentials were even available in other countries. VW enthusiasts have built a cottage industry around these vehicles, and it is not uncommon to see them around the U.S. packing powerful Subaru engines.
In its last year, the 1991 VW Camper Syncro was fully loaded and had an MSRP of $26,475. Though NADA lists the high retail value for these at around $11,000, they tend to go for more on the open market. We saw one sell on eBay for more than $30,000. And modified ones with low miles are routinely listed for $40,000.

Wait a minute, I'm 55, somebody didnt tell me all this. So I'm supposed to have some sort of pot to piss in now? Dang, I must have been asleep when these pearls of wisdom were announced.
Dang it, I got to start looking for a piss-pot fast. :)
