Title: Charity Cruise
Post by: Beetleboi -Greg- on September 26, 2011, 11:23:27 pm
So my friend just finished the MS Bike Ride this weekend, and I thought to myself... why isn't there a car cruise for charity? I know we have done walks, and toys for tots... why not a car cruise? I know it my be late in the season, but maybe we could arrange this with other car clubs. I know I'd have to talk this over with Ramone if there is interest.
Maybe we could do the same route, it's all back roads.

Motorcycle clubs have charity runs! Why not car clubs?

The AWA "Animal Welfare Association (http://www.awanj.org/)"  Was looking for something like this. It is a A no kill shelter.  A Charity cruise with Animal's in our bugs?

Cheers
 Glen

Greg you and Ramone could do this or you could plan it yourself.

The AWA would be a great Org. to donate to.

The MS bike route would be great.

I'm

                           all

                                    for it!

this is like a Matt post.........

I adopted a cat from them once.... it's a great place.

Charity runs...  probably get a lot more visibility and community interest for the club.

Yes Jack,  I noticed the similarity in your post... too funny!

My animals wouldn't behave in my car,  so I may have to bring one of my son's stuffed animals!  #@rofl3

I don't think my cabriolet is fish proof, but I'm sure I could find a dog to borrow.

Next fall would be a great time to have this. We can get sponsors, deSigns for shirts and a route where we can get (1)stop f?r a doggie break. Something like this can be HUGE!!! For the club. And the TV stations would be invited.... .

A nice thought.  Uhhhm  Did I miss something?  Club members and families could use a our help. Should we not  put our efforts toward helping them?   :confused04:;

Sometimes people don't accept "charity" easily from those that they know...  but if there are needy families who would, then I'm sure many members would be willing to go that route as well. 2@cent

Hmmm......    ??

Actually it's Kessels Christmas Fund as Jack thought of it helped get it funded & played Santa delivering it.

And now since I've TOTALLY embarrasssed him... The least I can do is tell every one to go to the club store and make a paypal donation to Kessels Christmas Fund so we can deliver Christmas cheer to members who are having a rough time this holiday season!

That shouldn't embarrass him... it's a wonderful idea. Just increases his "cool" factor exponentially...   2@@cool

Maybe we should do a practice run THIS fall before we get tv crews involved. Like, run the route, pick pet friendly stops for walks, good place to eat, photo spots, etc. We need more cruises... they're fun!!

Practice is good,  and then we have to figure out how we're (or rather who is) going to transport the $$, food and supplies collected to the particular charity..   Should a charity representative be on hand with literature, pictures
( the "awwwwww" factor) as well?
