Title: Engine tins
Post by: rich67vw on November 10, 2011, 10:03:20 PM
So I found out that MugBug is missing two tins. they are the lower left and right air deflectors - they connect to the sled tins. Seems some folks take them off or forget to put back on after yanking an engine for whatever. Searching on the Samba, it seems some folks say don't run without them, others say who cares...

What say you all?

By the way, excellent source of tin videos I stumbled on is on YouTube - search on "awesome powdercoating" and their is 20+ videos detailing each item on a reassembly. I was interested in video 18 I think which seemed to answer the two I was missing. I guess I coulda just asked Jack, but I figured he was busy growing eggs... :)

I'm a firm believer that if VW put them there, you should.

Dont play with cooling tins- you need all of them.

BTW- awesome powdercoating  did all the tins on weezer- GREAT company to work with
