Get ready folks!
SJVWC is having the first annual "Freeze your Butts Bus Off" Campout January 14 & 15 at the campground at Belleplaine State Forrest
(https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-78Hz-XuppxI/Ts3mHTRPNsI/AAAAAAAANW4/EPlg_M6YTvQ/s448/FYBO.jpg)
Saturday Evening we'll have a Pot Luck dinner followed by a presentation of "Alone in the Wilderness" the story of Richard Proenneke who at age 50 went to live alone in the Alaskan Wilderness. This is an absolutely amazing documentary.
Depending on the temperature, we'll either show it outside or in the heated Add-A-Room Theater located on the south side of the Syncro #@rofl3
We hope to see you there
Rich Anning, who joined us with his wife Abby (in her silver Jetta) for the Cover'em up Cruise will be joining us for their first camp out in their new Vanagon Weekender!

Yeah, go read it... The auto-sensor changed D1ck, short for Richard to "head"...
So we're going to see a movie about "head Proenneke" #@rofl3
I know, I've had that happen before! It's pretty funny,
You all enjoy freezing your various body parts off... I'll be cozy and warm in my bed thanks.. #@rofl3
So come down for dinner & the movie!
I was so disappointed sad0013= when the hose I got from Amazon (see photo below) didn't work with my Coleman heater for the bus, I thought I was going to be stuck using the one pound bottles for the FYBO camp-out and a one pounder only lasts about 5 hrs on high.
Well I went out in the garage a bit ago to try it again and it worked 2@@cool and I just wasn't attaching it right #banghead
Now when my 5# propane tank gets here (also from Azon) I'll be all set and be able to run the heater on high all night and have the tank outside the bus.

Warm and Toasty!!!! Snug as a Bug in a Bus. Sorry, couldn't help myself!
#@rofl3 &^rofl
I bought my hose at Walmart and with a 20# BBQ tank (I already have) I can heat the bus for a week __rolleye_
I didn't want to carry a 20 pounder thats why I got the five.
Got my 5# tank today. **^bana0

I second that!
I am such a snob. I like camping CampTent$...in perfect weather... 7&7sun or in a hotel.... 40sleep3
Thinking about bringing Split Pea Soup, anybody have any objections?
Sounds yummy to me, but since I won't be there I guess it doesn't really matter.. lol ( Sorry not driving 2 hours each way to watch a movie in 20* and eat some food.)
Bring it, I had that yesterday for lunch with a ham sandwich .
I'm bringing rice and chunky beef soup to go over it.
It's nothing without a MugBug bringing Dunkin Donuts HOT coffee on Sunday morning, is all I'm saying whistleegi
Well MugBug coffee is always appreciated as you know but I'm no suree what time we are going to
pack up and go (will depend on weather) to breakfast at the Maurice River Diner. MugMan or anyone else could meet us there.

We understand, you two are to Prissy.
Never been to that diner. Looks good..
Not prissy, Jack. I love to camp. It's far different sleeping in a heated camper, than in a tent on the ground with no heat. Reallllllly not good for my RA. bawlin)0
Maurice River... holy cow, thats 1 hour and 45 mins from here. Guess I technically don't live in South Jersey , do I....

Well it's only 10 minutes from my place! I guess that means I really do live in South Jersey! Who would of thunk?
Jack, at least I know my limitations! I would drive Tim nuts! (well, more than usual!) 3#blab#
KV, I hear you! 2@@cool
Well at this time in my life I don't know my limitations so I'll give it a try.
The last time I was winter camping was 40 years ago at Big Bolder for a weekend of skiing and had a blast but I also was in a 31' trailer (that I still have) with all the comforts of home.
I think we'll have a good time.

Should be able to carry a LOT of firewood! CampTent$
Ill make garlic parmisian mashed potatos.
@campfiresmiley I have three bundles of firewood that you buy at the gas station.
There is a place on cross keys road that sells fire wood. Going to check it out on Friday.
You're going to need all the wood you can get, because it's only supposed to be in the 30s during the day! *cold*
SO I think I'll pass on this one, but may try to make it to one of the Overhaulins next weekend.
In the 50s till Fri. then cold for weekend :confused04:; Well it is a FYBO event campfire90
I have plenty of fire wood if any one wants to stop here on the way to the Maurice River Dinner or any time this week. It is split and seasoned.
Yes Jack.. thank goodness you have your Coleman set up all ready clap2-*
I just scored a second add-a-room. Maybe I'll bring it and make us a 12 x24 heated dining hall/ theater **^bana0
You all better take pics of of this!
Shawn, that sounds great. Will you pump heat into it as well? Don't forget the Jiffy Pop in the aluminum that you can make over the fire... thumpup)-
Thanks for the offer Bob but I already got some wood and Shawn is bringing some.

Jiffy Pop? No way. I have Coconut Oil & fresh Kernal corn and Butter... We're having REAL movie popcorn (http://www.bbqbug.com/forums/images/smilies/popcorn.gif)
Well because I had some time on my hands before I take my morning nap, I made my bed in LoveBus this morning.
first layer: a throw on top of the cushions.
second layer: a survivor blanket to reflect body heat.
third layer: a sheet
forth layer: sleeping bag opened up to use as a blanket
fifth layer: another survivor blanket to reflect body heat.
sixth layer: a blanket.
I shouldn't have to pump heat into it as well, but if I have.....Oh, never mind. I should be nice an warm.

Yes you have.... If you went to the movies before 1992 you have.
All movie theaters used the same method of making popcorn and Coconut Oil was what they used.
It makes incredible tasting popcorn, but it was the smell that was the best part.
{_^soap In 1991/92 the "health police", the same people in government that ban smoking and subsidize the tobacco industry simultaneously, put the squeeze on the movie theaters because Coconut Oil has the highest saturated fat content of all oils. Nevermind the fact that you go to the movies once a month (at best) or that the replacement "Buttery Flavored Topping" is probably twice as bad for you....
rant.()
So I google it.... Found this
They're bringing it back and already the tools are at it:
Has anyone notice that the two biggest movie theatre chains are changing the oil they pop the corn in to one hundred percent coconut oil. I'd love to start a public uprising against a weeks worth of saturated fat on a popcorn, like 8 big macs and lots of other crazy terrible comparisons. Yeah coconut oil is almost pure saturated fat, the bad kind, for everyone, not just health nuts. Would you eat popcorn if you knew it was a weeks worth of recommended saturated fat, and that's before you put the butter on it. Most theaters use half corn oil and half coconut, they misrepresented the facts back in 94 when they stopped using pure coconut oil, telling us they're using vegetable oil. well what's new big corporations misleading the public. anyway check your local theater, turns out only the landmark uses a worthy oil, the rest are using half coconut and about to change to full coconut. of course this is all before you put the butter on. and since the theaters are making 90 cents on a dollar of popcorn, don't you think they can afford a decent oil? and oh yeah it tastes pretty good in coconut oil, but i'm boycotting now that I know. It would be healthier if they cooked it in beef fat, can you imagine that?
Educated reply:
Coconut oil is a medium chain triglyceride fat which isn't processed by your liver and is the healthiest saturated fat you can eat and I cook all my food in it, not even canola or vegetable oil. (Descriptive explative removed) #@rofl3
I like that reply!!!
Enjoy your popcorn. There's nothing like a good movie, good popcorn , and good friends to share them. thumpup)-

There's an old boy scout joke in there...
A guy went to a psychiatrist. "Doc," he said, "I keep having these alternating recurring dreams. First I'm a teepee, then I'm a wigwam, then I'm a teepee, and then I'm a wigwam. It's driving me crazy. What's wrong with me?"
The doctor replied, "It's very simple. You're two tents."

We can only do 1 because the tent doors would face each other thus eliminating the entrance. I'll bring it just in case
