I've been trying to solve my horn problems for a few days now and i'm in a corner #banghead The only thing i can come up with is that my steering shaft has a bend in it or the tube is bent. I was wandering if there's any way i can use the ground wire thru the shaft and bypass the ground on the tube that the wire is connected and use another location? OR should i swap the shaft instead? :confused04:;
When i connect the horn, everything is fine. I turn the steering from left to right and the horn beeps or just stay blowing and i'm not even touching the button. It was embarrasing when i'm trying to park, so i had it disconnected since 04 when i rebuilt the car.

Hi Ramone!
You popped off the steering wheel cover, disconnected the wire to the contacts in the steering wheel, and still get beeping while turning the wheel? In my 73 super years ago I had that prob, it had something to do with contacts, which I fixed. Can't remember exactly what - thing is you have to isolate the problem from the steering wheel area vs the wire going through the column.......... then look at your coupler, sometimes a short can occur there..

Matt, the problem is not the button. I think the shaft is bent, the steering wheel is new. I guess ill do a horn like Glen.... LOL

What year is the car?
So you think the collapsible portion of the steering column touches the side of the steering shaft when you make a turn?
if so, see especially if it rubs where it comes out of the firewall..........
