Here's the problem. I need to keep lifting the body on and off several more times for my baja build. With a full roll cage , 3" lift getting everything ti line up ect.
I cannot trust the beams in my garage. I was thinking of some 4x4's and a A frame but came across this ad on craigslist
http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/fod/2964910457.html
that leads to this site

Was thinking a pair of uprights some cross members and I can use my chain hoist I think I can set this up in the garage
What do you think

Note I will try to get pictures of the build on line soon
Why not just braced the beams in your garage. Then run 4" web straps through the windows and use a light-weight comealong?
I don't know if that will work, but it sounds plausible.
Phew, for a minute I thought jack was trying to lift one of his plantings!
I have considered the beams in the garage, Problem all the car parts in the way, and with the garage door opener in the way.
Plus I always over engineer different ideas.

I thought FireLady was having Celly build something in case the JackWagen needs to be carried during Holly's MS Walk on Sunday
DWP,
Pallet racks are great for holding pallets, but keep in mind, they're designed to have the load spread out, and they're also designed to have 4 horizontals on each side.
What you want to do is put 2 horizontals all the way up top and the straddle a bearer across the center and hang your chain hoist from it.
You couldn't be planning a use further from what these things were designed to do. Please be careful.
