u sure it's a 71? type 181/thing were made from 73-75....

He said it was from the UK? Not Sure
Civilian sales began in mainland Europe and Mexico during 1971 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_181), in the U.S. in 1972
Then it should be a RT hand drive? He didn't say anything about that?

Le181 (a member) has one from Germany. Left hand drive.
US military used them for jeeps over there in the 70's
