I had a guy stop by the other day and wanted to know If I wanted to sell my trailer and I said sure, call me back Sat. (today). So Joann and I went out in it after I got home from John's to clean it up a little, this is the first time we stepped foot in it in 14yrs.
I said, dam Hon, it still almost smells new. I hooked up the elect. and the AC still works great, all the lights work and also the Fridge.
So the guy calls again and offers me a price so low I had to turn him down. :jump4jo": **^bana0 yaygif
I told JoAnn and she went yaygif th_cheerleader-1.gif yaygif
After being in it again cleaning I think both of us was thinking "don't sell" but didn't say anything to each other till I told her I said no to the guy.
Now I'm going to get new tires for it and take it to the dealer and let them go over everything and fix anything that needs fixing.
After it is done JoAnn and I will be at the campgrounds with the trailer, she said she would defiantly go. **^bana0

Been working on the lights and got everything working but the marker lights. Took it for a drive this morning and it's towing great.
I put the awning down and its in good shape but very dirty, a lot of car wash and scrubbing and it cleaned up nicely. thumpup)-
Anyone know how to install a trailer brake controller????? I need help or guidance if you do.

-
You want that controller you gave me back?
I knew I had a controller but couldn't find it anywhere, %$oldcit now I know what happened to it. No, I don't want it, I ordered a new one yesterday.
Yesterday I decided to clean up the fuse box on the tongue and after I did I had NO lights &(rage_ Well Jay came over today and cleaned it the right way making it look like new and got all my lights working again. He's like a machine, going, going and going. I was so tired I I could just about stand and I didn't do anything. Now I just have to get the running lights working.
The new controller and plug should be here the middle of next week then I'll have brakes and be ready to roll.
THANKS JAY thumpup)-

Hot damn!!!!

Great work! Good friends are worth their weight in gold.
That's going to be like a new trailer! clap2-*

No Problem Buddy. My recent surgery was hurting me a little and slowed me down but tried to get her ready for you.
The acid was the trick and really helped.. Let me know when you get the controller and I'll wire it up for you..
So By the way Jack.. What are you going to name the Trailer? :confused04:;
let me think, you've got the Love Bus.. is this going to be The Love Nest...

Just noticed that antenna up there.
You have to get a converter box for the TV to work Jack...All digital now
-
I know someone that just had a digital setup put on their trailer, I'll get the info from her.

whistleegi
So what is the antenna setup u got?
-
http://www.amazon.com/GE-24769-Outdoor-Antenna-Digital/dp/B0026SSAOM ( This is the unit installed on my trailer.)
This is a post on FB from the man that installed mine: " Antennas are easy, Home Depot sells a digital antenna for around $50. This is what you need now if you want tv reception in the US or Canada. To install just run a wire from it to the "cable input" on the side of the trailer and the power suppy to it hook in where your cable is hooked to the tb now and then hole the cable to it. The power supply has a 110 AC power plug on it that converts the power to 9volt DC, I you want to operate it while dry camping you can cut the cord and wire it into your DC power ( it is able to handle 12 volts) this works well for me."
You have a bigger trailer with a flat roof , so you could always go with a Winegard set up too. My roof with the curve isn't ideal for one. http://www.winegard.com/mobile/index.php
Hope that helps..
-
Ah so Karen didnt mean digital cable... she meant hdtv
Your antenna will work Jack, but not as good as an amplified one.
Campgrounds are usually in remote locations away from cities where broadcasts come from
You need a digital converter to use an old TV or to get a new digital TV
-
We are getting a new TV with a built in DVD player. All the years we used the trailer we hardly ever used the TV except to play VHS tapes for the kids, so I don''t see it getting much use now.
The antenna that is on the trailer you can crank up and turn inside the trailer so I'll mount the new Antenna on the same mount.
The name of this antenna has a nice ring to it.
But I might go with this one.

Jay came over and got the brake controller installed in the truck, I didn't think I had a factory hookup installed on my truck so I got the controller for non-factory hookup.
I took the panel off so we could see under the dash better and have more room to run wires, well guess what I found when I did, yup the factory installed trailer plug.
So we plug in the factory plug and used only the wire that goes back to the plug for the brakes. The brakes now get elect. but the brakes are stuck, have to ttake the wheels back off and brake the solenoids loose. I should have checked them when I changed the weels. &(rage_
So a big thanks to Jay again for the 5 hours he put in today helping to getting the trailer that much closer to being done.
-
It'll be all ready to go soon enough thumpup)-

Hey You Young Strapper you. I'll be by next week to work on the brakes for you.. After all two ?/moon2.. + ?/moon2.. are better then one ?/moon2.. . Besides you can't adjust and fiddle with fixing the trailer brakes, and press the brake pedal at the same time.. I know your legs not that long, but doubt that other parts are that big either :confused04:;
Probably Tuesday because I'm taking the little one to Great Adventure Sarfari Park on Monday before they close and change the drive through forever changed where you can no longer drive your own car through the park.. Damn why does things have to change i liked it the way it was #banghead
.
-
(off topic, but we went last week to the Safari.)
I'm sure Jack appreciates the help clap2-* =+grouphu9
-
Took off a brake drum today and I never saw how elect. brakes work but now I know, it's kind off cool how they work. I didn't see anything wrong so I just cleaned all the spider webs out and put it back together. Maybe the magnet isn't getting enough voltage or maybe it is, I see the way they work the wheel has to be turning for the brake to work. I'll try it out on the road later today and see what happens.
-
Went for a test drive today and the brakes work great! Thanks again Jay for all your hard work.
I see in the photo that I have to go less another chain link on the load levelers, front of truck just a scoch to high.

Looks great Jack, she looks brand new! I bet you and JoAnn can't wait to go camping again. Soon those cool nights and comfortable days will be here, perfect for camping. thumpup)-
-
Speaking of cool nights, tonight is just wonderful, it's so nice to be out in the garage with the door open and a cool breeze blowing, love it!!!!!!
-
Hey Starp ?/moon2.. . Maybe if you shoveled that heavy load of water soaked dirt and mulch chit out of the bed of your truck it would lighten the ?/moon2.. end.. Not to mention get you a little more miles per gallon. BTW isn't that the same load that's been in there like for years?
.
-
Hooked up the propane yesterday and the regulator is still working as is the stove and heater. thumpup)- Three more things out of the way.
On the test drive the door came open and now I have to take it off and repair it, NOT looking forward to it. &(rage_
-
Ahh just get a bungee cord and hook it up.. thumpup)- #@rofl3
-
This morning I took the door off and rebuilt it, took about 5 hours but it's good as new now. **^bana0 The back door is tomorrow, don't need as much work so it should only take about two hours now that I know what I'm doing.
Also hooked up the Deep Cycle battery in it's new case. Now I have to find out why only one of my marker lights is working. :confused04:;
-
Good luck.
-
5 hours?! You're certainly persistent! Hope it goes smoothly with your back door.
-
love the pics jack this looks just like the trailer we had in mays landing for years before getting the upgrade.
-
5 hours?! You're certainly persistent!
Well a lot of that was scratching my @#% (head) standing and looking at the door wondering how to take it apart.
The back door took 1/2 hour now that I knew what I was doing and I didn't even take the door off the trailer.
Got my new gas hoses today and hooked up the propane tanks.
