 I'll gladly do it again..
But knowing the distance and how large of a crowd, we'd better get a early start..

BTW. how should we register, separately or as a group?

Hi Jack, registration has been hibernated, so I can't view it, but to the best of my memory, folks can register additional cars on their own form. However, for my purposes of tracking and sending reminders and event updates, it would be best if all register individually so that I have everyone's info and emails.

It will still be only $10 per vehicle, and will include everything from last year, full BBQ lunch for registrants and their guests/families, live band, welcome gifts and awards, and I hope to something special in addition for my loyal VW Club! Last year, you each received VW hats.

In the meantime, the poster and info is available for viewing at
EventsByBurke.com

Please stay in touch, and thanks for the messages! Consider your special parking area reserved! I am working on a system to get music to your spots on the perimeter.

Best regards,
Francey Burke

I'm going to register and "assume" that my Bug will be done - or at least drive-able by July 9th... So, I'm in. Sounds like a good one.  *buG

Any idea when registration will be un-hibernated?

.. All I can Say is

BuBBa Burgers, and all you could eat BUBBA BURGERS.. I have no idea what Burks food budget was but it had to be a Biggie just like there Burgers.. Who the hell gives away free all you can eat Bubba's and the crowd was sizable that's equates to one hell of a lot of free food, and drinks. Amazing

Great Event, a little distance and some shore traffic but we moved through it just fine.

I guess even though Dave has a top this year, he'll showup Topless again.
and the Herbie family was out in force..

The Burke Motor Group loves us and wants to do a little extra for us. Below is an e-mail Francey  Burke sent me, so for a head count Who is going

Hi Jack, I have been getting some registrations from folks from your VW club, which is super!

I would like to have a special gift in addition to the welcome gift for your club, how many vehicles do you think will register?  I think you mentioned about a dozen or so, just wanted to make sure since I will be ordering the gift soon.  An approximate number would be fine.
Thanks so much!

We are adding vendors to the show this year for an added feature. Remember, all the FREE food & drinks you can stuff in your little tummies

It's not the glass and seats I'm worried about. Gonna need to get that engine finished (started!!!) and installed.

Richard..
Even if the car's not done and running you can always bring it as a "Richard Flintstone"

Might be a little ruff on your shoes and shoulders carrying that heavy load heading down the expressway, but we can all help taking turns and get you there.

I thought George was going to check that engine and heads a couple of months ago, did he? Engine can be done in a day if heads are OK.......

I'm waiting for George to find time to do an align bore for the crank so I can order the correct size bearings. He'll check the valve guides at the same time. The case is at the Taj now and I'm bringing the heads over there tonight. Other than ordering the new crank and rod bearings I've got to order new exhaust studs - which I'm doing as soon as I finish this post. It's frustrating - I can't find a single supplier that has everything I need. Going to have to order from at least two places.

I'd love to get the engine mounted onto the chassis before dropping the body, but I don't think it has a chance of happening.

Actually, no, I haven't had any experience with them. I'm waiting on some exhaust studs from MAM - got half and they back ordered half. I'm also trying to track down the formed padded piece that runs side to side at the front of the sunroof opening. Cip1 has it but it won't get here in time for this weekend unless I pay ~$80 extra for shipping. And even then it's not guaranteed.

The Burke Group has asked us for a head count from our VW Club.. Apparently there getting something for us.. Why, or What we have no idea, maybe a new 2017 VW Beetle for each of us to replace our older German Tin..

So I need an updated Head Count for any who are planning to attend, please ASAP..

Here's the event.. Hey it's only $10.00 and the proceeds go to the Vets. Plus they feed you so much your need to increase your tire air pressure to travel back home..

Be Sure to register before it's sold out and so the Burke Group can try to please us and we all know how hard it is to please us VW guys and dolls. :~}

I can also meet up at the rest stop just before Sea Isle City (Exit 17). I'm planning to leave early, though, because once you get to the AC Expressway (Exit 38) it can be bumper-to-bumper South from about 10:00 on on Saturday mornings. It might ease up a little when you pass Ocean City (30 and 25).

We have to see when everyone else are planning to get to Burk's. Then we can get a game plan together. I think Stone Harbor exit is #10, so we can work backwards to get a time fix.
