Title: Engine Builder Kit
Post by: efni on November 10, 2016, 10:17:28 am
So I'm looking at this:  http://www.cbperformance.com/product-p/1186.htm (http://www.cbperformance.com/product-p/1186.htm)

Wanted to get the "experts" take on one of these kits.. I'm in the process of a Stock rebuild now, but wanted to do something like this over the winter..

Thanks guys for supporting the wayward Member in ND..  unbrelola

I'm hardly an expert, but that looks like a pretty HOT engine (a good thing). CB Performance has a pretty good rep. Are you thinking "street engine"? One thing to think about is it doesn't stop there. You'll need a good strong transaxle to withstand the engine, and I'm sure other chassis components, too. I'm sure more knowledgable folks than me will comment. That's a great shop you have in your build post, if it's yours. Even if it isn't, it's great to have a nice big, clean space. Good luck.

I would buy the parts from CIP1 Stock rods work just fine.
A 8 dowel wedge mated flywheel and crank from GB a must
Balance everything a must.

If you want aLL THE GUESS WORK TAKEN out go withe the kit..............
