Title: 2019 FREEZE YOUR BUS OFF....
Post by: matt on January 13, 2019, 10:10:43 pm
First time for Ted  and me to go to FYBO..and I, looked very much forward to it.

Here are pics

Oh yea, ..... Ted is smiling now, he has no idea what is in store... waaahahaaaaaa
& Mr. Winslow will not be this clean again for  quite a while....

Almost 2 hours later we pulled up...

Things were already set up as people got there before us, and even some people after us

Pulled up to add to the firewood pile...

From here on, there is nothing better than the 3 F's......  (Let's think wholesome thoughts here.... like... )

FRIENDS - FOOD... AND FIRE!!! It was cold!! - not quite freezing, that came later...

Marc, cooking up chicken... A distance away Shawn seems to have an interest how this is going... no wonder, Marc's chicken was awesome!

Nice food spread!  So much great food, Chili, Stew, pulled pork, etc.. and treats for dessert...

Marc's feet had the right idea!

( Oh, Just wanted to mention, I caught Tracy as usual working behind the scenes getting things set up for the food layout, and clean up... always, thank you  so much Tracy!!!  dance$#)

AND as the night went on it got much, much  colder -,  - weird to feel the front of you being very warm by the fire, while your back is very cold... strange contrast...

The temps dropped as the night wore on, everyone left to go home except Ted, me, and a 2 other buses. George was the last to leave @ 10pm,  & the rest of us stayed up talking until 11pm - and hot chocolate always makes moments like this better.... \Muggy

Starting up the ol coleman catalytic heater... put that sucker in there to get the bus warm!

We knew it was going to be real cold that night...

& according to weather report  the temperature went down to 16 F    cold-  cold-  cold-  cold-  cold-

By morning the coleman heater had about 30% of fuel to go, and we were thankful it was still running as it would have been crazy cold in the bus... as it was 25F outside and snowing quite a bit...

Coldest I've seen Mr. Winslow look...

FIANLLY, all situated inside, tent top is down, and ready to go -was just past 10am....... - the other buses pulled out about 8 - 8:30am

a road less traveled.... but will be traveled by one more....

Some of the roads were very slick, with very slow traffic...

Food sanctuary stop - oh so nice and warm in there....

Good food, but as no other club members were  there  to stick the bill to,  we did not eat a whole lot...   devil)-

Made it home by about 1:30, still snowing most of the time.

Greatly appreciate Shawn checking in on us in the morning  to see how we were making out, part of what this club is about!

Although it was really cold, had a great time, and added more great memories.  ^banana=  ^banana=

Hey, Howard, ?.Wasn't too bad, feet were a little cold.... but the bus has a booster fan in the engine to move the heated air  - that makes the world of difference.
Of course, wish there was more!  ...Good to hear from ya buddy!
